Hi Everyone,Just a quick update. If you read my other post within the FSX Sub Forum, you undoubtedly know I've been having problems downloading REX. I am in the process of downloading this addon as I type.I hope to have this program installed and running today. I hope to start testing today as well. I will run without overclocking the system at first, this will give others a view as to what they can expect from I7-975 CPU and FSX.I'm doing this because this is a $1,000.00 CPU and many people may not want to overclock. I will then overclock and see what happens.

Hi all, I just wanted to add that I've been a big-iron nut since the early days of FS. I consider myself an avid AI collector with a couple of hundred custom AI airlines (the larger ones) hand-collected and installed with MRAI and all the rest of the WoAI airliners and cargo packages to round-out the globe. I have been collecting and installing AI and AFCADs since the early days of PAI when everything was done with notepad and now enjoy the likes of AIG who produce such nice quality AI plans at an astounding pace.Anyway, my point is, with my recent build of an i7 920 OC to 4GHz, I finally feel like I'm back in the FS9 days (which hasn't been installed on my rig since Dec. '07) fullly enjoying the crisp look and feel of 100% AI, at a complex add-on airport, with all the poplular scenery addons enjoyed so much in my FS9 days, and more. I know the internal FPS counter is not an accurate standard measuring device by any means, but I have jumped from 9 FPS to 22 FPS at Atlanta with my PMDG 747 with 100% AI, and the sliders set pretty well in-line with NickN's tweaking guides. Once I'm in the air, it's a solid 30 FPS limited by the FPS_Limter tool and the sky and sunsets produced by ASA and REX depicted with the GTX 285 is just outstanding, hands-down.Over the past two years, I have kept up with technology and learned many of the latest trends and tricks both in hardware and FSX tweaking that will allow me to quickly move into the next version of any FS, whomever makes it, and be comfortable with that transition. At this point, you could not pay me to put FS9 back on my rig as the scene is fluid, at any load, and looks much better than I ever remember in FS9.Hi, my name is AL and I have an addiction... :(

Hi,I just setup a quick try at an overclock, still need to do some tweaking. Here are two screen shots of FSX during the startup default flight. One shot shows bloom on the other with it off. These screen captures have been reduced from 1600x1200x32 to 800x600x32. I don't know about you, but I'm impressed.FSX1.jpgFSX2.jpg
Don't want to burst your bubble that is definitely not all high. If autogen was max, there would be houses over all the tiles, and the water looks like its @ 1x but the framerate is still pretty impressive none the less. :(

Hi,Don't remember the autogen setting, but the water is set to X1, I don't care about the water all that much. I may change my mind once I have REX installed. I've seen some of their videos and its very impressive.I'm just about done with my install, REX is setting itself up now.The testing will begin today.
