Although I am getting some strange textures that seem out of place:Boyz1.jpg
If you're referring to the funny looking area in the upper left hand corner, that's the luge course used during the winter olympics. It sticks out like a sore thumb in real life as well.

Jim,Great job on the KELM scenery. I work at the airport, and took my private and instrument training here - it's great to see it rendered so well!A couple of suggestions: There are now only four tee hangars... the two (oldest) tee hangars, (the ones closest to the terminal), were torn down last fall. Also, the ramp in front of the Airborne Inc hangar (at the end of taxiway bravo) has been extended... it now extends to the northeast - past the end of the two southwesternmost tee hangars, as you can see in the following google maps linkhttp://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source...mp;t=h&z=16And, there is the new Sikorsky "Hawkworks" hangar complex on Kahler Road, just south of the threshold of runway 10. Unfortunately, since it is quite new, it doesn't yet appear on any of the aerial photos of the airport via the usual web-based mapping sites. The google link above only shows the preliminary excavation work at the site, which dates the photo to about 4 years ago.KELM is my "home" airport in real life, as well as my FSX flying - really appreciate your work.Any chance you might want to tackle Costa's airport (7N1) in Painted Post sometime? It's undergone massive changes in the last couple of years, with a new paved runway (in place of the former grass strip), along with all new hangars, paved taxiways etc. Since the upgrades, many of the GA aircraft that used to be based at KELM have moved to 7N1.Jim Barrett
Thanks for the info, Jim. Hopefully I can get KELM updated before the Avsim Library comes back up. I'll take a look at Painted Post. Right now I'm working on Niagara Falls airport. I slow down a little in the summer. :)The GA planes in Gary's screenshot are AI planes. So they show up at various times depending on your GA traffic settings.Jim

Holy moly Larry, that makes sense. I would have never thought of that, and I have vacationed in the area a couple times. (smacking head).

The warbirds parked next to the Wings of Eagles museum are a nice touch, as they do have several classic aircraft parked right in that spot at the "real" KELM.Jim Barrett

I am not sure what that area is that shows up in the screenshot.............but looks like contour farming to me. In fact the luge track, along with the bobsled run as well as the cross country and biathalon site is located at Mt. VanHovenburg, which is on route 73 towards Cascade Lakes and Mountain. It appears much less prominently in Google earth than the area in the photo; but you can still make out the parking lot as well as the bob and luge run. Having done the cross country skiing runs, I can tell you that most of that is buried in the forest and doesn't really show up. FWIW, the location of the bob and luge runs is shown as44 13.00.96 N73 53,31.78 WKingfish

You are probably right. Whenever I wasn't sure what something was I went to Google Earth for answers, and they identify it as a Luge, but their info isn't necessarily accurate and in this case probably isn't.I looked at satellite photos from several sources and whatever it is, it stands out distinctly from the surroundings. Odd shape and also odd grayish coloring.Larry

Jim,I did a little work on 7N1 last night, got the runway lengthened, paved, and marked. Also added the taxiway and apron with some AI parking. Just have to add the buildings and a few other objects and it should be good to go.Jim

Well, there's only one logical explanation left then...it's an Alien Marking. :( Larry

Regarding the aircraft at Elmira--I've added a good bit of AI across upstate NY, so those are unique to my computer. There is also a very small amount of AI that comes in and out of Elmira in FSX. The trees appear a result of my mixing Jim's AFX created masterpiece with a need for more landing space. I've created so much GA AI, I needed both runways "active". The only way I know to activate the crosswind runway is using Aircraft Design editor (also, the only program I have) When I install Jim's original file (or a new one he kindly emailed me last night with a larger exclusion) the trees are gone. But when I open and edit the file with ADE (and it is then saved as an ADE. bgl file, the trees appear in either version. If I back off from Dense to Normal on autogen, the trees change from Pine to Oak!!!!I don't begin to understand it, but no surprise the problem is my doing. I like having both runways active, even though I suppose it's not quite realistic. It's alot easier than reprogramming the AI schedules, as there is an accumulation of 2 or three years worth. Thanks for the suggestions. A tree or two in the taxiway just adds to my challenges!Gary

Not sure what is causing this, but it went away when I uninstalled your landclass. Its a great job overall, just trying to figure out how to fix.

That is the result of one of my Lake Placid experiments. I was trying to eliminate the standard rectangular grass runway skirt so I could create a more accurate border. It worked but it also seems to have caused part of the runway to get covered in grass - not sure why. I will fix it for the final release.Larry

Will you be doing the airfield at Canadaigua? That is the closest field to Victor and Fairport outside of Rochester. I would love to fly over Lollypop Farm in the MAAM DC3 or B-25 not to mention around the Finger Lakes.Mike

If the question is for me, I'll certainly take a look at it. I'd like to do as many airports in NY as possible. 7N1 is coming along nicely. I revamped it tonight, moved the entire runway, taxiways and apron. I added one of the buildings, and fencing between the airport and the highway. Hopefully with Larry's landclass and my airports, NY will be a premier place to fly.Jim

It is for whomever is making the airports. If that is you, then yes. I was originally born at Plattsburg AFB long time ago and lived in Fairport next door to my grandparents for about a year before moving to Japan. Sometime in the 80s, my grandparents moved to Victor and I always loved the drive up along Lake Canadaigua. It is a beautiful area and my Ma loves the wine from that area. I would love an airport in that area to fly around from if you could create one.Mike
