July 8, 200916 yr Gary,I just loaded up KELM to take a look. Half of the one apron is outside the airport boundary, but I have no trees anywhere around it, so maybe something else is going on. Maybe you could post a screenshot of what you're seeing. If needed, I can adjust the apron to be completely inside the airport boundary and send it to you.JimHow about just adding an exclusion beneath the apron, and make sure the exclusion includes trees and stuff? Rather have that than an innaccurate apron. Tom Perry
July 8, 200916 yr Larry,I also tried your new beta and had some problems with small bodies of water. All of the ponds and small lakes appeared to be "frozen", ie winter settings even though the current date was used. I know it is cold in upstate NY, but not that cold. :( Kingfish

Does printscreen save the image from FSX? (I serve on two IT committees as the "computer idiot" and I fill that role very nicely, if I say so myself!)Gary
July 8, 200916 yr How about just adding an exclusion beneath the apron, and make sure the exclusion includes trees and stuff? Rather have that than an innaccurate apron. There is an exclusion under the apron, that's why I don't see how Gary is getting tree's there.Gary:You can take screenshots in FSX by hitting the V key. They'll be saved in My Pictures/Flight Simulator X/ or similar. However, they will be .bmp files which are quite large. You need to use some sort of photo program to change them to .jpg. Jim

JimPrintscreen worked to clipboard (Google is wonderful), converted to jpeg, and "uploaded"--it's in the list. I hope the image/file is somewhere. If not, I do know how to email pictures, and I can try that. The two trees are in the same position as last night (surprise) when I loaded to Elmira. Last night I "flew in" from Dansville.I have an older computer--amd 3800 x2, 8800 gt 512mb , 2 gb ram, UTX and GEX and I don't even know what resolution I run at....Hope this works, but on the "preview" I see no pictureGary
July 8, 200916 yr Then perhaps there is something missing from his scenery.cfg file? I ?orget what it is. I remember a problem people had when FSX first came out that caused this problem. Anyone remember the solution? Tom Perry
July 8, 200916 yr Gary, I'll take another look at KELM tonight. I might need to adjust the exclusion to make it just a bit larger as those trees are close to the edge of the apron. I'll let you know. Good job on the screenshot! Jim

My first thought is a side affect from some other third party scenery that does add frozen water? Just guessing here. Larry
July 8, 200916 yr Thanks for your work.Am seeing sunken runway at KLKPThis is basically a landclass/texture project, and should not effect this issue whatsoever. Are you sure this was not an issue prior?

Also I don't see the two other GA aircraft in your screenshot anywhere. The only planes other than my own in the area are some old warbirds sitting in some grass next to a hanger. Here's an overhead:
July 9, 200916 yr Yeah, since the AVSIM Library is down, I uploaded it to Fightsim.com and Sim-Outhouse.JimJim,Great job on the KELM scenery. I work at the airport, and took my private and instrument training here - it's great to see it rendered so well!A couple of suggestions: There are now only four tee hangars... the two (oldest) tee hangars, (the ones closest to the terminal), were torn down last fall. Also, the ramp in front of the Airborne Inc hangar (at the end of taxiway bravo) has been extended... it now extends to the northeast - past the end of the two southwesternmost tee hangars, as you can see in the following google maps linkhttp://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source...mp;t=h&z=16And, there is the new Sikorsky "Hawkworks" hangar complex on Kahler Road, just south of the threshold of runway 10. Unfortunately, since it is quite new, it doesn't yet appear on any of the aerial photos of the airport via the usual web-based mapping sites. The google link above only shows the preliminary excavation work at the site, which dates the photo to about 4 years ago.KELM is my "home" airport in real life, as well as my FSX flying - really appreciate your work.Any chance you might want to tackle Costa's airport (7N1) in Painted Post sometime? It's undergone massive changes in the last couple of years, with a new paved runway (in place of the former grass strip), along with all new hangars, paved taxiways etc. Since the upgrades, many of the GA aircraft that used to be based at KELM have moved to 7N1.Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. July 9, 200916 yr Author Thanks for your work.Am seeing sunken runway at KLKPThe area around Lake Placid was a test bed for me. I did a LOT of experimenting in that area so it's possible there's a left over "experiment" that didn't get removed. Can you post a screen shot?Larry
