In your setup, I think you need to account for the possibility that a user already has a modified lclookup.bgl and the 901 blend masks, as it appears the installer will overwrite them.scott s..

We didn't modify lclookup.bgl. As for the blend masks, the installer offers as an option an improved set of 900 series blend masks - we don't modify the 901 series or any other blend masks. If you already have a set of aftermarket 900 series masks that you are happy with and don't want ours, you can uncheck that option during the install. If you choose to install the new masks, the installer backs up the existing masks so they can be restored at anytime - just copy them from the backup folder. We supply improved blend masks with our product because the original FSX masks are really poor, and make texture transitions look terrible. Low 'n Slow has a LOT of transitions so it was important that we make an improved set and include them with the product.

I've downloaded it this morning and can't wait to try it out tonight. Question: I already have both FSGenesis and Scenery Tech landclasses installed in the UTX "sandwich". I can check or uncheck them as desired. My impression is that I would install "Low 'n Slow" in the "sandwich" per your instructions, but above either of the other landclass products? I normally use the FSGenesis. If I put "Low 'n Slow" above it, it will be displayed in place of the FSGenesis in New York State? Thanks,Jim

Yes, just stick it above other land class products like FSGenesis and Scenerytech. Low 'n Slow will show for NY State only and your other land class product(s) will show everywhere else. It was designed to play nice with most aftermarket add-ons.

Great! Thanks.Jim

I looked at the difference on the Pennsylvania/NY border. A very dramatic difference PA is all forest while there are farmers in NY!There is an issue. The coloring of the landclass elements in NY are more saturated and look "technicolor" while those in Indiana farm land, and elsewhere, look more natural. Any reason for this?First picture New York, second Indiana

Low 'n Slow does not modify any textures. It uses whatever textures are currently installed. It looks like maybe you have mixture of aftermarket textures installed?

Sorry, you're right. I rechecked and see now that what I had seen were changes to the blend masks from another addon. I'm going to spend some time at Lake Canandaigua next month so did a little flying in the area (with UTX and GEX textures). Flew around the lake then up to Rochester and over to Palmyra and your LC looks pretty good in this area. scott s..

Wow, I'm very impressed! I started from Fulton County Airport (NY0) where I usually fly from and headed east to Amsterdam. The first thing that struck me was the commercial corridor along Rt. 30 heading north from Amsterdam. In real life, it's a commercial area with auto dealers, Walmart, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. Previously in FSX it was rural but now it's commercial along both sides of the highway.I circled around and flew back over the city of Johnstown and found that the high rise buildings that nromally show up in FSX are now gone. Yay! I turned south and checked out Fonda and Fultonville, then turned west and headed up the Mohawk River. The villages of Canajoharie, Fort Plain, and St. Johnsville are MUCH better rendered now than they were with other landclass products. The city of Little Falls looked good. The villages of Herkimer, Mohawk, Ilion and Frankfort looked fantastic. I continued west to Utica where I saw the first taller buildings, as it should be.Then I turned back and headed toward Otsego Lake. The village of Richfield Springs looked very good, but the best surprise was how much better the village of Cooperstown looks. It's a BIG improvement. There's an area along Rt. 28 heading south from Cooperstown where the trees line the road in a matching arc and it looks nearly photoreal.Later I loaded up another flight from Fulton County, again in the trusty Real Air Scout, and headed north over the Great Sacandage Lake. The villages of Mayfield and Broadalbin were nicely rendered and the village of Northville is much better than what I previously had in FSX. I use FSGenesis landclass and am pretty happy with it. I'll continue to use it for areas outside of NYS.The only thing I'd like to see changed, so far, is at the Fulton County Airport. The south side of the airport is open fields out to Rt. 67. The water tower and beacon stand in open fields. WIh your landclass it is wooded and the water tower and beacon, along with part of a hangar are in the woods. Since I fly from here most of the time, I'd like it to be accurate. FSGenesis landclass does have that right. I can send screenies if you want. Thanks for a fantastic product, I'll be flying a lot more and I'll be back with comments.Jim

Thanks Larry, just in time, as I was just getting ready to do a tour around NY State in the Dreamfleet Dakota and check things out closer...as I had been flying out west when first installing the beta, and just 'returned home' to Ohio last evening.

I live in Little Falls, and go to Cooperstown quite often so I did put some extra effort into that area - thanks for noticing. BTW did you see Doubleday Field? I also put quite a bit of effort into Lake Placid so make sure you check out that area as well.I'll work on the area around your home airport and put it in the final release. Thanks for the feedback.

I had my pictures in my original post backwards but I am guessing that there are some textures that were changed when I tried the FScene demo. I never liked it so I thought it was uninstalled. What is a good tool to see which texture is beneath an airplane? Looks like I need a manual correction.Anyhow, the difference between Pa and NY is dramatic and very noticeable. Do you intend to do the USA or would it be better to publish instruction on your process?Again a big thanks.

I took another flight last night from Albany (KALB). The first thing I noticed was that the incorrect tall buildings around the ariport were now gone, including tall buildings in the approach to Runway 1. I headed north toward Saratoga. I noticed all the tracks right away. Nice touch. Saratoga itself looks better. However, in the rural areas north and south of Saratoga I'm getting some textures that appear to be European. A lot of red rooofed buildings and the open-courtyard buildings. They looked out of place. I didn't grab any screenies but I can go back and get some if needed.Glens Falls looked very good, a big improvement and Lake George is fantastic, again a BIG improvement. Next time I'll continue on up to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake and check them out.Jim

Probably the easiest way to find out which textures are left over from the FScene demo is to browse to the [FSX]\Scenery\World\Texture folder and then click the "Date Modified" column to sort the files by date. All the newer non-microsoft textures will probably be at the bottom of the list.I use the stock FSX textures and feel that I get the best results with them as opposed to aftermarket textures. Color tones and overall style are pretty consistant for the land classes we used, which make transitions between them (which there are a lot of in Low 'n Slow) seem pretty smooth. The stock FSX blend masks are not so good, so we included a set of cleaned up masks to fix the horrid dithering affect caused the originals. I don't know if I'll do any more states or not. It took several months of my spare time just for New York - which was a labor of love. Any other state would probably just feel like labor...but who knows.

I can't take credit for the tracks...probably an UTX enhancment.I'll check out the Euro buildings. Larry
