Anaglyph 3D mode (red/green or red/blue goggles)

The glasses I have are not red and green they are the new glasses that the theaters are handing out for movies. I was just wondering if they would work.

Can someone please give me some product names and a reasonable price for these 3d glasses. Either online or a retailer is fine. Thanks

The red/blue glasses I got have the advantage that the ground and sky colours still appear green and blue to my eyes, so the overal color experience is not much degraded.Christian

Thanks for the excellent link Geofa. As usual, you provide excellent info. I was going to get 3d glasses as I have the 8800GTX video cards but the Nvidia site states you have to have at least a 120Hz monitor - http://www.nvidia.com/object/GeForce_3D_Vision_Main.html. I have the Dell3007 LCD monitor and it is only at 60Hz. Just wondering if you or anyone else are getting around this issue.Best regards,Jim Young

Mine is also a 60hz-lucky I don't read the directions! :(The only "problem" I see is sometimes the click spots are off-as you now have two images. This is easily gotten around by toggling the 3d off with the keypress when you need to program something like the gps.

Jim,The refresh rate is not important with the red/green glasses. The nVidia information is for their own 3D glasses, which are of the shutter type. eDimensional, who also sell shutter-type 3D glasses, "suggest" a minimum of 70Hz.Dugald

I bought a pair of E-dimensional shutter glasses after reading Geof's post on 3D last year, and I've been simming with them ever since. The red and blue anaglyph glasses just don't agree with my brain for some reason. For anyone who's simming with 3D glasses, either anaglyph or shutter, I would STRONGLY recommend investing a few bucks in a fresnel lens. I can't really find the words to say how or why the fresnel lens enhances the 3d effect, but to me it certainly does. I've been using 3d glasses + fresnel lens + Freetrack (a Track IR alternative) for a year now, and the immersion you get by putting all three together is outstanding. I still get butterflies in my stomach in too sharp a bank.I picked up my lens at a local stationary store for about $20, but there are several places to find them online. Here's one:http://www.3dlens.com/shop/large-fresnel-lens-f550.phpBy the way, I was concerned headtracking wouldn't work well when using a fresnel lens because of the way the lens refracts light at certain angles, but it's worked just fine in my experience.

I installed the drivers... the option for 3D showed up.The next time I opened the control panel... the option was gone.8800GTX is the card, so it should be there. :frown:
That happened to me once-but the control keys still should work (ctrl t to toggle on/off).On the next reboot they were there and haven't had them vanish since.
