July 16, 200916 yr Hello,Like many of my peer FS enthousiasts I am constantly on the look out for improvements of the FS world (FS9 in my case). That's why I already have add-ons like Active Sky and Ground Environment Pro installed. FS Elemental seemed to belong to that category and the price of about 10 Euro's did not stop me from checking. The result (in my opinion): Their clouds are absolutely impressive. However, a number of other features I can easily do without, like the sudden blue colouring of my Airbus panel. What I found really annoying is the change of the water colour, which turned into a deep blue, almost purple, probably suitable for the Australian environment, but certainly not for Europe. I tried to exchange the water textures with the excellent textures of Peter Wilding (FSWater), dating back as far as 2004, but that did'nt help. I do not understand why the developers did not provide a simple user interface in which we are offered a choice as to which features should be turned on or off.Regards,Ren René Bongers
July 16, 200916 yr Hello Rene,Generally speaking, water colors of the FS Elemental are excelent, but those environmental textures, make them look bit purple. You can try this "trick", like me. First download file named "Water Environment Reflection & Color Maps". Don't pay attention on "for FSX ONLY" they work perfect in FS9.Download here:http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/downloads.htmlThan simply put that textures instead of FS Elemental one, and than you will have a perfect water, in perfect environment colors.Hope this help. My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....

The clouds are amazing...unfortunately, I took a major fps hit. I was locked at 25 fps before install, but after Fs Elemental I was down to 8-10fps. So back to Flight Environment for me!! Matt L.
July 16, 200916 yr Yeah, the clouds are really amazing. My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
July 17, 200916 yr Yeah, the clouds are really amazing. The second image... Mine just do NOT look like that. They're all like the first screeny. I'm using Active Sky Advanced, but can't get the billowy looking clouds. What gives?! My clouds seem too wispy and wind blown. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

My clouds seem too wispy and wind blown.I've tryed ASA too, but i also get some strange looking weather with it. So i'm back to my good old AS 6.5 version, and voila: My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
July 21, 200916 yr The cloud files are all 5 megabytes each as opposed to a few hundred kilobytes for other types of clouds which probably accounts for the FPS hit, I love them too so I just kept the clouds files for Cumulus installed and used other smaller files for the other types of clouds and it looks pretty nice without the severe FPS hit.

I keep Flight Environment for sunset/sunrise/and night textures. That in combination with UT/FSGenesis and Ground Environment Pro exceeds IMO the results I'm seeing in FSX with UTX/GEX/FEX.R.Perry

Some improvement in FPS gained. Otherwise, FS elemental great.Anyone know what makes their latest "Intense" pack worth getting?

Result is this: My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
