Hi I need help pleaseI have Vista 64bitsIntel Quad core Q6600 2.4 Ghz4 Gig ram Ddr2 Dual ChannelGeforce 9800 GX2 1 gig DDR3FSX accelerationUltimate Traffic IIPMDG 747-400XREXRadar ContactFS Dreamteam JFK,ORD,LASFlyTampa NCMFSPassengerFs2CrewIf you need more info just ask it.In Flight 15 FPS max but at airport drop below 11 FPS. Default airport like KMIA i can reach 13 FPS and JFK between 5-7 FPS Your help would be welcome.Thank youJean-Michel

Your FPS does seem kind of low for your rig. I also run a Q6600 and get about 11-12 FPS with my 747 at the biggest airports with lots of traffic, but in the air I get 20+ over big airports and 40-60 over rural areas. I noticed you are still running 2.4 on your Q6600, you'll see pretty good performance boost if you overclock it and they are very good overclockers.

I would check into any potential issues with your video card - that's SLI on a single card and FSX is known to not actually support SLI due to its CPU limited nature - you may be better off just going with a single GTX285 or something like that.

Try using nHancer as well. I did and now get improved fps in FS9 and FSX. Not an enormous improvement, but some.

Are you running in fullscreen or windowed mode? And now many windows? I see a big drop in FPS if I open a new window/view and I have almost the same config as you. Also - try running with the non-PMDG 747. Framerates go way up on mine using the stock FSX 747.

What vid card driver version are you running? I have seen certain driver versions perform badly in the sim.

Hi I use nHancer sorry I forgot to say that I used. And I use last video driver 186.18 and i run in windowed mode with one screen and for overclock idk what i need to do for this??I check deal for GtX285 lower that 500$ I test default 747 at Klas by FsDream 8.9 FPSAnd PMDG at Klas 6.5 FPSAll with Microsoft weather engine set to Real weather. All Windows background program delete just what i need.I have a big problem sure but i dont know what.Thank youJean-Michel

What are your FSX Display/Graphics settings like? Also i realise you have DDR2 memory and your video card is DDR3, i dont know for sure but could this be a problem?

Bryan, the DDR2 main memory and DDR3 video isn't a problem and isn't unusual. Different controllers, timing, etc. There is something wrong, and I would too look first at the graphics setting. He should be getting 30+ in the default aircraft. Maybe using an older version of NAV that sucks the life out of a cpu? (NAV 2009 works so much better, I never know it's there). Run task manager and look at what else is using cpu resources. Ask the guys in the FSX forum for help.

and FSX is known to not actually support SLI
SLI support is actually a function of the graphics driver, not the application.I have a 7950GX2, and if I drop it out of SLI mode (e.g. single mode anti-aliasing, not SLI AA), I see a marked drop in performance.I'd suggest the add-ons he is running in-sim is the greater culprit. On the ground I get 23 FPS (at worst) with the MD-11 at Heathrow 2008. Running traffic, no doubt autogen, and high resolution cloud textures, and water, I can see why his sim is suffering. My processor? Stock E6700.I did however get rid of:* AutoGen* High water detail* Traffic* Bloom* Self-shadowsEveyrthing else though is maxed.Best regards,Robin.

Jean-Michel:FYI the 185.xx and 186.xx drivers performed VERY poorly in FS on my machine....stutters, poor fps. I *strongly* urge you to remove them, and install an older driver like 180.xx, or 182.xxthat should be your starting point, then you can tweak with nHancer from there.

See by yourselfThank youJean-Michel

I've also found the latest nVidia drivers, 186.18 to be ridiculously slow. I'm now all the way back at 181.22Greg Wintle
