MD-11 and 737NG installed together?

Featured Replies

Gents,Has anyone had any luck with the NG and the MD11 installed in fs9? I would like to install the NG and start flying again. Any issues? This is all on XP.

Kind Regards,

Worst case scenario, you would need to reinstall the MD-11 afterwards...I have both on my FS9 setup, and have no problems with the two, though I did install the 73NG first, a long time ago...Andrew

I recommend to install the PMDG products in proper order:737 (fully patched)747 (if available)MD11newest AIRACThis will avoid any potential problems. Cheers

I have successfully installed the 737 after the MD11, I think only the 737/747 are installation order sensitive.

I installed them as I got them ( in order of their release) with no problems. That's a weird trouble.RegardsRichie

The problem occurs if you have the older 737 installer from before we started using Install Shield and you install it after the 744 or MD-11. It overwrites the Modules\PMDGOptions.dll file with a much older one that doesn't have support for the 744 and MD-11. The solution for this is to just backup/rename that file before you install the 737 (including the 800/900 and any updates), then replace it. If your 737 installer looks like the 744 or MD-11 installers (blue Install Shield screens etc) then there's nothing to worry about, it figures out the file versions and won't overwrite the newer dll.
