August 9, 200916 yr Commercial Member Can anyone confirm that the MD11 FMS performance page will not update automatically like the progress page? It's been bugging me for a while but I assume it's how the real thing behaves. For example I'm on the ECON CRZ page 42 miles from TOD, the TOD will remain at 42 unless I click the perf key again to refresh. On the 744 the page refeshes automatically. Could anyone else confirm this?ThanksRob Rob Prest
August 9, 200916 yr Rob,Just so happens I have a flight running right now and my TOD on the PERF page is refreshing as it should; I am using it in FS9. Dan Schultz REX Latitude BETA Team Member https://rexlatitude.com
August 9, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Rob,Just so happens I have a flight running right now and my TOD on the PERF page is refreshing as it should; I am using it in FS9.Thanks, I noticed this from when I first stated flying the MD11, I though it was strange but maybe just a quirk with the aircraft. Everything else works fine. Can anyone else confirm this? I'm using FS9 Windows XPCheersRob Rob Prest
August 9, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks Richie, I guess there is somthing up with my install, everything else works perfectly. I reinstalled the MD11 a little while back for another reason and the FMC still behaves this way, I honestly thought thats how it was with this aircraft.Just wanna confirm one last thing, is the FMC refreshing in real time or do you have to wait a little while for it to update? maybe I'm not waiting long enough. The progress page updates realtime.Cluthing at straws here but are you using FMC software mod 'Pegasus 920 or -912 in the options menu? I use -920 the latest I think??ThanksRob Rob Prest

August 10, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Ok not sure how I missed it for this long but it looks like my progress page wont auto update either. Nothing strange about my setup except the FMC and other panels are undocked to other monitors. Everything else works fine.Could any of the PMDG development guys assist?ThanksRob Prest Rob Prest
September 1, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Well it's been a couple of weeks and no help from PMDG. Anyway I found the cause of the problem, I fly from the VC but undock other panels to two other 17" displays, if I don't undock the FMC in the VC it will autoupdate however when I do undock the only way to get the pages to update is to press the PROG key or INIT key etc. The strange thing is if I switch to 2D the FMC will autoupdate even if undocked.Regards Rob Rob Prest
September 1, 200916 yr That little bit of information about undocked panel may have gotten you an answer sooner. Not certain, but maybe. Dan Downs KCRP
September 1, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member That little bit of information about undocked panel may have gotten you an answer sooner. Not certain, but maybe.I did mention it, a few posts above. Your on the Beta team so I'm sure aware that if you undock a 2D panel it wont update if you fly in the VC. I'm undocking the FMS in VC but it's still not working Rob Prest

Been known about for years. If it annoys you, don't undock it. You probably know you can click the FMS display in the VC to view the pop-up. That's how I do it and it seems to work OK.Best regards,Robin.

The Sim is part of a home cockpit setup so not undocking is not an option. All I want is an official reply from a Tech guy, it works fine in the 744. I just want to know why the FMC stops refreshing when I fly in the VC but works fine in 2D.RegardsRob Rob Prest
September 1, 200916 yr Commercial Member OK....So it's undocked, on another monitor, and stops updating when you are viewing the VC, but not 2D?Let me try that here...Best regards,Robin.
September 1, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi,I dragged the FMS from one display to the other and went to the VC view (the FMS was on the second display).FPLN updates, INIT updates, PROG updates. I think PERF updated too (GW) but not sure.Milage updated per mile. I'm unsure of the update rate of the others, but it seemed to be every 10 seconds or so (at the time I was flying at approx. 6 miles per minute, so unsure if it is sync'd with the milage update rate, or if it is time-based). There was no discernible difference between VC view and 2D view.Best regards,Robin.
