Do you know where I can get information on the power setting? Its not in the checklist/references. I am not that familiar with constant speed power systems anyway. What are the cruise settings for example? Is throttle always reduced first and increased last? Aren't there different power settings for climb, climb cruise and cruise? Where do I get the information from?
August 17, 200916 yr What about the Carenado Cherokee 180F?They are just about to release a new version of the Archer II, I'll be all over that. Tom Perry

Where do I get the information from?Search on the Internet for the Lycoming Operators manual...Here is some info:http://forums.piperowner.org/read/1/13831andhttp://www.lycoming.textron.com/support/ti...0Operations.pdfQuote:The complete chart for 65% power is shown as follows:Altitude 2100 RPM 2400 RPMSL 25.9 MP 22.9 MP1,000 25.6 MP 22.7 MP2,000 25.4 MP 22.5 MP3,000 25.1 MP 22.2 MP4,000 24.8 MP 22.0 MP5,000 F. T. MP 21.7 MP6,000 F. T. MP 21.5 MPAfter studying the power chart, the pilot would undoubtedly then ask what combination of RPM and MP would be best to use at cruise. We recommend the pilot try the various combinations offered by the power chart over a five-minute period when flying in smooth air, and use the listed RPM and MP combination which gave the least vibration and the lowest noise level. :( In addition to the quieter and smoother consideration, lower RPM means lower friction HP. This reduced loss of horsepower due to friction also translates to slightly improved fuel economy.orhttp://www.osfk.se/motorflyg/SE-IAX/sektion5.pdforhttp://www.fliegen.ch/cms/pdf/afm/Arrow/Arrow-4-2.pdf Bert
