August 17, 200916 yr Must be Aberdeen, UK!Best regards,Robin.Probably lol - I went as a passenger many years ago from Newcastle to Stornaway on a J41 then off to Aberdeen in a BN Islander (yep it was rather grey at Aberdeen)I'll tell you now the J41 was MUCH more comfortable lol. It's why I have an interest in the J41... memories :( John Ellison

It's why I have an interest in the J41... memories :( John EllisonI have flown right seat in the Islander and nearly baggage class in the J41 (I was in the very last row of "seats" which more appropriately should be called "jump seats") with a well known member of this forum as PIC, and believe me... I will take the Islander any time. :( In fact, that J41 flight from IAD to CHO was the last flight I have taken out of or into CHO. I drive now to IAD. And if that isn't enough hints as to who the PIC was, then I give up. :(
August 17, 200916 yr Are you ever gonna tell us the story about something happening on a flight with RSR in the left seat, Tom? I recall a previous post by you alluding to something. Matthew Bellette
August 17, 200916 yr Thanks, what turbo props do they fly now? They fly Dash-8s on the East Coast. I'm not sure what else.Charles
August 17, 200916 yr LOL. Surely RSR wasn't the pilot. For a person responsible for making planes of this magnitude I would expect him to be the perfect pilot. One of these days that story has to come out cause it has been talked about for a long time. Personally myself have never seen a J41. It looks like it is a good aircraft. Makes you wonder why it never took off in the commercial world. Around my neck of the woods it is mostly Beech turbo props coming and going. August 17, 200916 yr Commercial Member Interesting question. Maybe it is just marketing??Best regards,Robin.

Plus most of the US airlines weren't interested in a fine British product (memories of the fine UK automobile products of the time :( ). BAE System leasing is doing alright with the J41 as a freighter these days, tho.Cheers, Chris D I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?
