took me some time to master the engine start ,now i face problems with fms,after loading the flight plan saving it ,and on pressing any of the other buttons like nav,vnav etc nothing happens to the screen it remains stuck in flight plan page,any advise on this is appreciatedvivek

i am still stuck in the tutorial,did try out another flight plan and these buttons were working then,but how can i complete my tutorial now, as it never goes beyond the flight plan pagevivek

Vivek, Are you loading the saved flight plan, or inserting it manually? Try doing it both ways to see if you can get it to work.

loading the flight plan,not manually does it make a difference,the problem is once i save the flight plan i cannot move over to nav page , am i missing something here, vivek

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but you might try entering the flight plan manually (Follow the tutorial), to see if you can get past that stage.This is the page you're getting stuck on, correct? And once you're here, pressing the NAV button doesn't do anything?

I am having the exact same problem where the FMS will seem like it freezes and none of the buttons work. I have to hold down the "ON" button and basically restart it.

Vivek, are you using the pop up or the the FMS that's on the console? I've had some problems with the pop-up, (where the button's don't all work) but none in the one on the console.

Well im having an issue with my fms as well. I cant get it to turn on. So that is as far as I have gotten in the tutorial. I have tried both the pop up and on the dash. I also tried bat, gen and ground power. I have shut down all avi and even reset the aircraft and still no fms power. Im thinking I may have a bad install as when I exit fsx it get it crashed and wants to send a report. I have saved the report if anyone is interested.

That's a very unusual problem. My advice would be to set all sliders in the FSX options to what the manuals (introduction?) says. It may be an issue with advanced animations, or something of that nature.I haven't had one single error arise with the FMS since I started up the tutorial flight.Mind you that you have to load a default flight BEFORE going into Alt > Load a flight.The very first issue I had was when I loaded the tutorial flight when in the main Create a Flight menu. The sim loaded and I had no outside equipment (GPU, baggage, etc)...Just remember to load it correctly, as the tutorial states. It's simply an FSX issue.

Heres a quick update after running through the entire tutorial with the exception of flying to dulles. Now everything is working perfect. No fs crash after exit engines are starting normal FMS is working as it is suppose to. All I can say is very weird but what a fun plane to fly now that I finally stopped the making of smores at the wings lol. Ran it through the pattern a the airport and landed with no issues flaps spoilers and no engine fires, even got the props to be on the start locks. Now some tweaking on my scenery to get the frames back up and it will be perfect. Thanks for the great Air craft PMDG.

Yes this is the page i get stuck ini am using the pop up fms ,may be i should try with the one in the console as advised by you all,will let you knowvivek

I have an issue with the FMS as well as regards the cruise altitude. When entering it in the 2d popup after loading a flight plan. On selecting DATA and pressing ENT I get to the screen and type in the cruise altitude ie 16000 then press ENT and it changes itself to ------. I have to go back to the menu again and select DATA again and re-enter it... this time it stays there ie 16000.I have done it throught the tutorial save using the VC fms with no problem.... Just my flightplans so I don't know if it's a small bug or.... a PEBCAK (problem exists between chair and keyboard)John Ellison

fms works well in panel but does not do so in pop up modevivek
