September 21, 200916 yr Hi just wondering if anyone can help me. Whenever i am landing at manchester at runway 24 R i always have a problem with the localizer, i tune the nav radio to 109.50 and i get the bottom part to line me up with the runway, but there is no glideslope? every other runway approach at egcc works fine.. am i just being stupid and there isnt supposed to be a glideslope for 24r approach? or is something not right?Thanks Martin
September 21, 200916 yr Martin,Real world (navdata) 23R.But, basic FS9 24R and yes it has full ILS.You did not give much information on your aircraft/setup. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
September 21, 200916 yr sorry, yes your right real world its 23r, this problem happens with all aircraft that i use and only seems to be a problem at this airport, my pc is a p4 3.2 ghz with 9600gt graphs card and 2.75gb ram, i really cant understand why i dont pick up the glideslope , as it works fine when im approaching any other airport.

The ILS at each end of the runway is set to 109.5 and both ends are configured to have a back course. You are getting the backcourse (without glideslope) because it is nearer to your aircraft than the ILS at the far end.Open the airport in AFCAD or AFX, press A to show the Navaids, and double click in turn on the green triangle representing each ILS. Untick the box marked Enable Back Course for both 6L and 24R, and save the file in Addon Scenery/Scenery. Your ILS should now work properly.. . . if I have guessed the problem correctly!John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

September 21, 200916 yr 2, one is the mod one which is layer 38, and one is the stock which is layer 7 i think,. i have edited the stock and mod ones to double check, when i search for the airports tho in afcad, it is the mod one which is more highlighted, im assuming as this is the one that is in use?
September 21, 200916 yr Martin,I just went and flew the approach in the MSFS default Cessna.AFCAD still has Back Course active (checked).The approach is working as it should with LOC and G/S.I intercepted the G/S 8.8nm 3000' and started down.Which aircraft are you flying for this approach?Your aircraft must not be configured. September 21, 200916 yr at the moment im testing it in the project opensky 737-800 with an ng panel, but i have tried it with many other aircraft and always get the same problem.{edit i have also just tested it with the default cessna, with both back course active, and still the same problem :( }
September 21, 200916 yr Ok,Quit testing that.Start FS9Load CessnaGo to airport, RWY 24R, ready for takeoff.Daila ILS freq You will see both LOC and G/S active right there.Your problem is with 737-800 with an ng panel. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
