September 24, 200916 yr I have been running a registered version of FSUIPC (3.70 I believe?) for some time now and I have yet to discover what the big deal about it is. So far the only button I have checked is syncing the FS time with my system clock. I know it has many functions for joysticks but it has little effect on my lowly Logitech Attack 3 that I picked up for $15.So my question to all of you is what do you use FSUIPC to do?
September 24, 200916 yr FSUIPC with WideFS, Mine is used to run all my addon programs from my networked computer.Saving resources and letting me run my FS nice & smooth. Clarke Kruger - CYEG
September 24, 200916 yr I use it mainly for various wx settings and to prevent the battery from going out if the a/c program being used hasn't modeled the APU to run the battery.db. not cooper
September 24, 200916 yr Moderator You don't know because you most likely haven't read the extensive manual that comes with FSUIPC. It is -without question- the "Swiss Army Knife" of all FS add-ons...Another reason why you're unaware of the value of FSUIPC is that it simply does its thing quietly. There are many, many add-on programs for FS that simply wouldn't exist at all without FSUIPC quietly doing its job in the background allowing them to communicate with the sim... :( Fr. September 24, 200916 yr what do you use FSUIPC to do?So many things that no other application can compare. Various FS tweaks and improvements, but first of all assignments (e.g. for external controllers).I have all my controllers (yoke, pedals, throttles, radios, AP) set up (key strokes, sensitivity) via FSUIPC for different aircraft separately. A great idea! What's more FSUIPC is essential for many other addons to work properly even if you're not aware of it.To understand how to use it, you need to put a little effort (like we all do) to read some HowTo.The latest FSUIPC is 3.93. for fs9Exactly like written here, so download the latest version and install it over the very old one (3.70) you have. It's always free to update.http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html
September 24, 200916 yr Hi.As the others have mentioned, FSUIPC does so much you couldn't simply put all of it in this thread.I cannot recommend highly enough that you should grab hold of the latest version. Then, as it's an auto-installer, just go to you're "Modules folder" in FS and take a look at the manual / user guide, it's actually quite a good read, and will more likely than not even give you some ideas as to how to get more out of this fantastic program.I use it for so many things, but one of the things it lets me do is set the visibility much better that FS ever can.You can also make you're throttle / joy stick much much more accurate / responsive by Calibrating it from within FSUIPC, forget the game joystick calibration thingy in control panel in the operating system, it's useless. One Important tip for you though, when you do have the latest installed, make a Back-Up copy of the FSUIPC.DLL file, as unfortunately, there are still some companies out there that do not give you the option of Not installing the freeware version that comes with their product, so, it overwrites you're newer and up-dated one instead. PSS were the only add-on maker that I am aware of that gave you this tick box option. This is because as others have mentioned, their add-ons Need FSUIPC to make their product function.Check out the manual though. September 25, 200916 yr Oh wow I didn't even know that my version of FSUIPC was so outdated. I got it some time ago and couldn't figure it out so I left it sitting on my hard drive unused. I downloaded the latest version and I think this time I will be checking out the manual a bit more...Thanks to all who helped!

Then you can manually move files etc. and not accidently overwrite important files with older versions.Been there, done that and it will not happen again - to me at least. :(
September 25, 200916 yr And don't forget to backup the *.ini too :( What a waist of time it will be if, for some reason, the ini would get corrupted and you'd have to fiddle the setting all over again. Eric [FSX on Windows7 64-bit]
