September 26, 200916 yr PMDG has explained me why they have not released a 2D panel for this aircraft:basically it is for keeping low the price....So I was wondering if PMDG might consider developing a 2D panell add-on (download only maybe)that can be purchased seperately for the JS4100? ____________________________________________________ Dieter de Wit
September 26, 200916 yr I don't think PMDG would go that route, and if they did there would be a public outrage, paying extra just to have a 2d panel.
September 26, 200916 yr Seriously, enough with the 2D panel. The J41 does not come with one, it comes with a jaw-dropping, ground-breaking, revolutionary VC. Lets get over it and move on already. Blake Williams

September 26, 200916 yr I don't want a 2D panel in the normal sense. What I would like is a miniature pop-up of the ADI so I could keep an eye on the airspeed and radio altimeter during landing. I fly from the realistic viewpoint as it was delivered from PMDG, but it's difficult to constantly look down, then up, then down, etc...to keep an eye on the ADI. Pilots just glance down with their eyes which can't be duplicated from the default view. A small ADI that would sit in the corner would help me immensely in keeping the correct viewpoint and having the speed visible without looking up and down frequently. Please consider this, I think it would help many.Curt Curt Branch
September 26, 200916 yr We're not making a 2D panel for this series of aircraft.Fair enough - that was announced a long time ago. What I had not appreciated is how hard it is to see & move between places in the cockpit. I have low vision (only 4 more eye operations to go!) and I'm going to have to park this lovely a/c in the hangar for 1-2 years. Oddly enough, I've not had a problem with the stop locks, but I've not been able to land the plane yet. What would make it usable?1) engine panel popup so EGT displays and the overhead can be side-by-side.2) Center of the center console popup for the autopilot engage button (which doesn't work right anyway, sigh)3) A popup of the three center panel buttons (CRS, IAS, HDG, [CRS doesn't work]) and the mode buttons4) A popup of the AHSI so I can see the text in it. 5) Maybe also a popup of the ND. As best I can tell, there's no information there (waypoints, other aircraft) - it seems like it's just a compass. As that is massively unlikely, there's probably a lot there I can't see (yet). I've also finally finished listening to the AOM. Apparently it's an attempt at ACA's AOM but that made it very hard for me to tell which were instructions for the simulation and which were instructions for ACA pilots. I did catch the maximum flight speed of 52 Mach, (yep, 52 - not 0.52). Two screen readers, and that line enlarged 800% in Adobe Reader, all agree that there's no "." in front of the 52. The fastest I've been able to go is about 472 kts when the autopilot did not level the plane out at 5000 ft, it just kept obeying the laws of physicsBTW, the artwork on this a/c is awesome. Wear on the buttons, smudges on the LCDs, passengers (and pilots) turning to look around. I haven't found PMDG cola or the pogo stick yet, though. Thanks for a truly awesome sim. PMDG has set a level that's going to be very hard for others to match.dan davison --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
