BOONAH! freeware airfield released

Featured Replies

Hello allI usually just upload my sceneries to the avsim library but as you all know it still down so I'm posting a notice here so all the avsimmers know that my latest project has been released. The airfield is Boonah and is a small but busy GA/glider/microlight strip about 70km sw of Brisbane in Australia. Almost all objects were custom made and that includes the hangars, people, static aircraft, cars, fences, animals etc. Also included is about 9sq km of photoreal ground textures which have been designed to blend with the FTX textures. The download is available from the aussiex website here:http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?app=dow...&showcat=13or you can get it at flightsim by searching for "Ants aussie airports". Hopefully when avsim is back up and running I will add it to the library as well. Here are some preview pics. I hope you like themabTheView.jpgaaKangaroos-1.jpgadAirsport.jpgadSpitfire.jpgadBoonahGliding.jpgadOverview.jpgThe area covered by photoreal. Hi Ron, Yes they are compatible with OZx 3.0. I know a lot of people at OZx and we try to make sure that we don't step on each others toes. The scenery is also kindly hosted by the aussiex guys (thanks JayKae for that). I did check with Mark Lee from OZx to see if they were doing a Boonah and Mark had made a quick and dirty Boonah in one of the earlier versions of OZx but never completed it.

I downloaded two airports from the aussie site, tried to unzip, and both said they were "damaged" shall try flightsim.com

Hi Anthony - thanks once more for Boonah and all of your magnificient scenery additions.... For those who have Orbx's FTX scenery and OZx airports , there are a couple of rural strips (Aratula I think is one) somewhere in the vacinity of the circling sail plane. Really nice area and a great job by all involved. I went searching for the sailplane and after finding it decided to explore the area. As I'm flying around looking at the ground a small airstrip pops into view - after landing there I checked the Moving Map of Australia (with OZx and FTX airsrips annotated) and found the next strip (don't know it's name). Have fun Howard
