November 21, 200916 yr Moderator I read over on their site at this link http://www.megascenery.com/megafsx.htm that you could use the FS9 packages in FSX. Granted they wont be at the optimal resolution, however for the areas they haven't done for FSX yet, I was thinking that it maybe a viable solution. To make it more temping I got an email from them showing that a lot of the FS9 titles are available to download for around $10.I alread have their Vegas, SoCal, Phoenix, and Dallas package for FSX, plues some of the MegaSceneryEarth Tucson area, but was thinking about trying the MegaCity Denver, Atlanta and Mid-Atlantic FS9 packeges in FSX.I would be interested to hear from anyone who has tried it and what the results were. Like I said in the beginning I know that the resolution wont be up to par with the FSX versions, but if they work properly I may give it a shot. Thanks in advance. November 21, 200916 yr I used the FS9 Socal Megascenery for a long time on FSX. It ran fine, but it took a very long time (several minutes) to load. I use the FSX version now. Loads quickly & looks much better :( Best Regards,Robert Kerr 3D Modeler & Texture Artist

January 10, 201016 yr I've been considering putting the Megascenery FS9 SoCal scenery into my FSX to fill the gap between the MegaSceneryEarth tiles that I have. I guess I could go buy the FSX version if this doesn't work too well. My FSX startup is already pretty long. A few more minutes will give me time to do other things while waiting. I will set this up and post my results. Keith Guillory
January 10, 201016 yr I have tried the FS9 ones for those of which I don't have the FSX version of, PNW for example. It looks terrible ! It takes forever to load up all the bmp files and the end result is disappointing. These trials were done while having GEX enHanced USA installed as the base textures for the USA/Canada and because of the resolution of GEX it makes the megacenery look really bland. I also had a blurr problem which I have never had with any FSX photoscenery.Although a good idea, the results are not good (IMHO). I do use 30cm & 1metre photoscenery where possible, so my comparisons may be biased.Try it and see for yourself.
January 11, 201016 yr Hello,My load time is about 20 min. It took about 15 minutes to get passed the 34 percent point then the load went a little faster. I viewed San Diego from Top-down mode and did not see much of a problem with texture quality. The only problem I had was that I ran the Autmated Installer from the MegaScenery website and it replaced my Scenery.cfg file with a new file that only included all of my MegaScenery installed files and the default scenery. While all of my payware and freeware scenery folders are still intact within FSX, I will have to restore those files to my scenery.NVidia GeForce 8600 GT 1GB Target Framerates = UnlimitedFiltering= AnisotropicGlobal Texture Resolution = Very HighLense Flare Advanced AnimationsLevel of Detail Radius = LargeMesh Complexity = 87Mesh Resolution = 76mTexture Resolution = 1mWater Effects = Low 2xScenery Complexity = Very DenseAutogen Density = DenseSpecial Effects Detail = HighCloud Draw Detail = 60 miSimple CloudsAirline Traffic = 100 percentGeneral Aviation Traffic = 82 percentAll other traffic settings are low Keith Guillory
