September 20, 201015 yr Hi Jim,John in France here, thanks for all your help recently with my weather radar. From one Brit to another I really appreciate it, hope you get your grahic card sorted.I have a repainted request please if you have the time. I love to fly the carribean with flytampas tncm and grenada etc. Liat and Carribean airways don't have the JS41 in there fleets so its fictional but very immersive. I am trying to get to grips with muliple attachments so hope these arrive ok,I have tried to find some liveries on the net but apart from Bahamasair not much I'm afraid. Thanks a lot,Harry :(
September 20, 201015 yr Hi HarryGlad to hear your WXR is all sorted out, as for the requests I really can’t do much until Thursday, which is when I should have the new card installed and FSX up and running again, but I must say that the Caribbean tail colour scheme looks interesting to say the least, so let me do some digging around for some reference shots and I will see if I can come up with anything for you, the Liat scheme looks as though it should not be to much trouble (famous last words), so if you can leave it with me until Thursday at the earliest then we will see what I can do for your request.Take care, and back as soon as I can.Jim Hodkinson

September 22, 201015 yr Hi HarryWell the new card has been fitted and FSX has been set up (sort of), so I thought I would have a go at your request, so if you would like to take her for a spin to see if she is what you were after then here is the download link for the LIAT repaint..http://www.filefront.com/17311296/J41_LIAT_01.zipAs for the Caribbean Airlines repaint, I just can not get a hold of any good shots of the tail, and it’s a little difficult to hand draw all of it, especially with my limited talents in that direction, doing a version with the standard tail layout is not a problem, it’s just this version has got me stumped I afraid to say, so if you would like me to do the standard tailed version then just let me know, the same goes for any changes, additions or updates you may want for the LIAT repaint, just let me know and I will try my best to assist.Take care, and my apologies about the Caribbean tail layout.Jim Hodkinson

Just did a short flight from Port Salines to Port of Spain I f you have time a bit of dirt and wear would be nice. As to the tail on Carribean Airlines, it does look complicated, I would be very happy with the standard tail. I'm glad that you have your new video card, may I ask which one just out of interest? Look forward to hearing from you and thanks once again I must try and fathom out repainting its just so amazing to see what you can do.Best regardsps its just so immersive when you can fly local liveries, its what makes Flight Simulator as real as it can be!pps look forward to Carribean Airlines(wow I'll be flying all night)Harry :Big Grin:
September 24, 201015 yr Hi HarryApologies for the delay, things have been a little hectic around here for some unknown reason, but back to business, I have weathered the LIAT colour scheme a bit, so if you would like to take here for a spin then here is the download link for the files..http://www.filefront.com/17316204/J41_LIAT_W_01.zipAs for the Caribbean Airlines colour scheme, I did manage to get a standard scheme done, so again if you would like to take her for a spin to see if she is what you were after then here is the download link for those files..http://www.filefront.com/17316207/J41_Caribbean_01.zipAs always if you want anything adding, removing or updating, then just let me know and I will try my best to assist, although it may be a day or two as an eye infection I had some time ago seem to be recurring, and the drops for it actually make my eyesight worse, so please bear with me on this.Anyway, take care, and have fun.Jim Hodkinson

September 25, 201015 yr Hi HarryThanks for both the very kind comments and for taking the time to send some feedback, both are really appreciated, as for the other request although I may not be able to start her for a day or two I could get some reference shots just to get the feel of what is involved, so be my guest and let me know what you had in mind for the next attempt I really don’t mind at all on that score.By the way I just realised that I never answered your question regarding the new graphics card I have just installed, so let me correct that oversight, although I would have liked a card that was further up the range at present my FS allowance would not stretch to it so I settled on a Gainward GeForce GTS 450 1024MB, and I have to say that I really pleased with it, I can get good performance with the 74X, MD-11 and the Jetstream at locations like FSDT’s KDFW, FlyTampa KBUF and other scenery packages that can take a little bit more processing power than the usual stack locations, as for the FPS I really do not even measure them, as long as the scenery is fluid enough for me to make an enjoyable flight then that is enough for me, and no I do not have all the sliders to the right, some I do, I just go for a good enough balance for my own preferences. So let me know what you had in mind for your next request, and I will at least make a start on the reference material I may need, and thanks for the concern that to is really appreciated.Take care, and have fun.Jim Hodkinson(thank god for spellcheck)

Thanks for the info on the video card I have a BFG 8800 Ultra 768 MB which is a couple of years old and am thinking of making a change this winter to have a bit more memory and power in it, having said that it cost loads then and like you I have to budget myself on my system. I will upload some images tomorrow, I'm just a bit torn with trying to find a small French Airline with a pleasing livery (trouble is Air France seem to have bought them all out) or one for Alaska! being the other two areas I love to sim in. Thinking about it though, I find myself all over the world OZ, Pacific NW etc........Hope you have a great weekend and keep taking those eye drops.Harry :(

I also like to fly FAF (French Air Force) I get loads of over flights here mainly all training but they have lots of airbases in this part of France so I attach a couple of images which I found on Airliners.net in camo. They are of a Twin Otter but I think we look good on the JS41 although the French Gov would never have bought one I guess. Secondly I attach 2 x images of Alaska Airlines again not in their fleet but I think the JS41 would be stunning in that livery. I do hope you don't mind my request's if so please say so. Hope your eyes are improving mate. Also if you don't mind just wonder where abouts you are in the UK? Me ? I was born in London, but have lived in Berkshire for the last 40 years, have been here in France for five so far!Best regards,Harry :(
September 27, 201015 yr Hi HarryI did do a disruptive pattern J41 previously, but that was an Australian Air Force variant, so a FAF version should be possible, and as for the Alaskan Airlines colour scheme I have also made a version of that for the J41 but with FileFronts recent website revamp it may well be another file that has gone astray, but all is not lost as I never throw anything away so I should still have the original files on my spare system, so it would be just a case of digging them out and reposting them, so if you can leave it with me I will see what I can come up with in the FAF department and get back to you with both that one and the new link for the Alaska Airlines variant. As for my location it has been over the years mainly just a couple of miles out of EGDB Barton Airfield and EGCC Manchester International Airport.Take care, and back as soon as I have something for you.Jim Hodkinson

When I grew up is west london we lived under the flight path,(in the fifties B377 - Lockheed 1049 etc..) it was only 8 miles to London Heathrow so I used to spend all my holiday's up there as a youngster plane spotting! I guess it was the same thing.Regards Harry
September 28, 201015 yr Hi HarryApologies for the delayed reply, it’s still a little bit hectic around here for some reason, but I did manage to upload the Alaska colour scheme again, so if you want to take her for a spin to see if this is something like the one you wanted then here is the new download link..http://www.filefront.com/17328655/Alaska_01.zipAs for the FAF colour scheme, I have been trying to find some more free repainting time to have a better look at this one but it getting hard at present to find it, I have however done a quick try out of the scheme based very loosely on the one carried by the Mirage Tiger Squadrons, so there should be a screen shot of the work in progress attached, and if this is something close to what you wanted then just let me know and I will try and get her finished, if she is not what you were after then by all means say so, after all it will be your aircraft in the end so you may as well get what you wanted. As I say, just let me know on the FAF repaint and also if you download the Alaska repaint and would like anything updating or changing.Take care, and have fun.Jim Hodkinson

I love the FAF paint, it fits in very well with my Rollus mirage etc and I also have a lot of Military AI traffic in that scheme so would be very happy as and when you finish it. look forward to a file link please.I think I owe you a beer when I next get to Manchester. Thanks,Harry :(
