February 14, 201016 yr Thanks for all the info. When does the race start and end? I want to make sure it doesn't interfere with the other stuff in life.Seems FSRules got banned from Avsim for admitting he uses a pirate version of FS2004. Guess he won't be joining the team then. :(

February 15, 201016 yr No promises, but I wanted to stop by and say hello. My Company has a big rollout next weekend, but I will try to get back to some flying, a little updating, etc...Hello to the team, and if I don't get a chance to fly, work hard, fly well, and know I am always there in spirit. Go team Avsim!JoeSonar5( Callsign ) Sonar5 of course( Flightsim version ) FSX( Experience in Flightsim ) Everything from Wright Brothers to Mil, no Big Jets, against my lowly PPSEL Heritage... I fly a mean Avanti... lol ( Timezone =/- UTC ) UTC + 8 Hours CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
February 15, 201016 yr ( Callsign ) Boner (ya, I know...)( Flightsim version ) FSX (FS9 available, but falling out of favor) ( Experience in Flightsim ) Long time flight simmer, newcomer to the race. Will fly nearly anything, but PMDG MD-11 and JS41, LDS 767 and FlyTheMaddog 2008 Pro are typically my choices. ( Timezone =/- UTC ) UTC -6 (U.S. Central Time) Eric Szczesniak
February 15, 201016 yr Welcome aboard Sonar5 and Boner. It may be a little while before you are granted access to the private forum where you can get the multiplayer addresses and passwords, but in the meantime you can download and setup the facilities, and launch right into some practice baton claim posts.Firstly you'll need the flight tracking software which you can get here: http://johannesmueller.com/fs/web/duenna/ It is fairly easy to set up, and when you're ready to launch into a test flight simply hit the "Arm baton auto pickup" checkbox, open the throttle and reach for the sky. There are more features to this program which you will find out about in due course.Have a look at the Practice Thread on this forum to see how baton claims are posted and how the baton is released at the end of your flight.Other bits of software you'll need are Teamspeak 3 which you can get here: http://www.teamspeak.com/ and if you are flying FSX you'll need a multiplayer linking progam called FSHost which you can get here: http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/download.html If you're flying FS9 you won't need this linker since FS9 joins up with the multiplayer server directly. You can get an overview of this year's race here: http://www.fsrtwrace.com/When you think you're set up with everything let us know and we'll see about scheduling a live session on Teamspeak sometime mid week where you can get to know a few of the guys and practice some baton hand-offs.The race begins next Saturday but, believe me, there's plenty of time to prepare so don't be put off by the seeming complexities.Anyhow, good luck, and welcome to the team.
