The cowl flap switches are easy accessible and also include a 'trail" option. There are lots of other new features included within the DC-3 2D IFR panel. December 21, 200916 yr Author And don't forget that if you do not wish to use the rudder to steer the default DC-3 while on the ground, you can use your joystick.All that is required to do that is a simple edit (using Notepad) to the aircraft.cfg file (back it up first).Find the [contact_points] label and then the point.0=1 line[contact_points]point.0=1, -56.00, 0.0, -2.3, 1200.0, 0, 0.60, 180.0, 0.200, 2.5, 0.695, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0Change the red value in the sample above to 60.0Save your edit - now you can steer the DC-3 using your joystick.Hope that is a useful tip.
December 21, 200916 yr Hope DC-3 fans will find this site as useful as I have. Trev Morson has been 'Mr DC-3' since I can remember. At least since FS98/FS5. He always did his best to provide for free what Kenneth Kerr provided the DC-3 with one of the first third party payware products, VIP Classic Wings. I still have that CD.I've had this site linked forever, and it is a great resource, although I prefer the MAAM DC-3 over the default, even in FSX.

As to the site reference, I stumbled across that (via Google) while I was searching for some DC-3 pictures.I just thought both items might be of interest to others so passed them along. If "credit" belongs to you, then that is fine. :(

December 23, 200916 yr This might help those joystick users that don't have pedals, and/or don't have a way to adjust one engine's throttle for turning. Not any help if you are a yoke user. It differential braking, of course. This of course requires braking-and-twist of joy (rudder) to take effect, and is why it's in the (brakes) section of cfg. I can't taxi or make turns without this. With it I can make the DC-3 do 'doughnuts'. Real? Maybe not, but good for some (me included).[brakes]toe_brakes_scale=4.5parking_brake=1differential_braking_scale =1.5Chuck BNapamule
