December 23, 200916 yr Hi I am a proud owne if the Wilco 737 PIC and the FS2Crew 2010 Wilco. It seems our flows are crossing paths somehow..Captain's flow...according to FS2Crew:1. Start APU2. Left Pump on <---wouldnt that be before starting the APU in real life?3. Set up Comm and Nav Radios and FMC...FO Flow...1. Battery on2. Fire test3. Confirm gear down4. Nav lights on5. IRS to NAV <-----why does he mess with my IRS!!! LOL and he goes from the off position to the ATT position then back to NAV when he goes to the ATT position it messes things up. According to Mike Rays "The UNNOFICIAL BOEING GLASS 737-300,400,500) SIMULATOR CHECKRIDE Survival Manual" The FO doesnt need to touch this.and that ATT is not good?Im just curious why the FO is touching the IRS?By the way I LOVE this program! Just telling the FO "gear up" "speed this" "heading that" "alt this"...etc... is worth it alone. Thanks,Cory Cory Elsenpeter
December 24, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi Cory,Glad to hear you like the program!Fuel pump, yes turn it on first!IRS: Are you loading the Aircraft Cold and Dark? Are you setting up the FMC after the FO moves the IRS switches?Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
December 24, 200916 yr Author Hi Cory,Glad to hear you like the program!Fuel pump, yes turn it on first!IRS: Are you loading the Aircraft Cold and Dark? Are you setting up the FMC after the FO moves the IRS switches?Best,I have it load as cold and dark from the options "FeelThere" options in my FSX folderThe FO flips the IRS at some point in the Preflight setup, I think right after he does some fire checks or something....and if he does this before I get tothe FMC then I have to put both switches to off then back to NAV or I can't POS INIT the aircraft. If I get to it before he does then he still flips the switches while im setting up the FMC depends on the timing I guess. Not Nav? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
December 24, 200916 yr Author No he puts it back in the NAV position but the fact that he puts it in the ATT position even for a split second then back to NAV it resets the POS INIT.Why does he even touch the IRS Display though? It's not his job nor does it help me.I made a video to show exactly what's happening.... Hi,At the airline I modeled, generally the FO sets the IRS switches. Other airlines may do it differently. There are a million ways to skin a cat. The FO will momentary set the switch to ATT and then back to NAV in case the user does not load Cold and Dark panel and the switch is already at the NAV position. This is my way of ensuring that the switch ends up in the Nav position if that makes any sense. However, I see your point, but all you have to do is re-enter your position.Email me and I'll send you a custom version of the program where the FO does not touch the IRS switches.P.S. What fantastic video editing software is that?Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

BTW - It would be great if there was a configuration utility with this program that would allow you to customize the flows and set who is responsible for which flows, I.E. I really like the preflight sounds, and jetway etc, but I prefer to do most of the preflight flows myself and for this reason I do not use the preflight event and subsequently I miss out on some of the resulting effects of the preflight events. ThanksTL

I really like the preflight sounds, and jetway etc, but I prefer to do most of the preflight flows myself and for this reason I do not use the preflight event and subsequently I miss out on some of the resulting effects of the preflight events.I think the problem with starting down that road is there are so many different procedures and ways to operate an aircraft that we would need to make virtually everything optional, from customizing preflight flows, checklists to callouts. It would add countless hours to the development process and probably still not please everyone. You can also skip the preflight events and do everything yourself, just starting with the preflight checklist. It's true you can't get those sounds you mentioned then though..
December 26, 200916 yr Captain's flow...according to FS2Crew:1. Start APU2. Left Pump on <---wouldnt that be before starting the APU in real life?3. Set up Comm and Nav Radios and FMC...The fuel pumps require AC power. If you do not have ground power connected, the fuel pumps won't work until after the APU is up and running. Fuel is suction fed while the APU is starting.
