February 1, 201016 yr Commercial Member If i may mr york,I have done another complete install, as you know i am running high system specs.I havent installed the FS"crew addon and my fps are good and constant from start to finish taking into account the addon sceneries which i am used to.Now installing FS2crew was fine at the begining of the flight [as usual]. I just notice a significant leak at the decent phase, where fps do drop to a tiny amount by the approach and landing..Remember we are just your forum posters, i know people who use this addon on skype and they state the same problem but just dont come onto the forums and post it.Best regards Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! February 1, 201016 yr Commercial Member Hi Alex,Well, please have them contact me.I can't attempt to remedy things unless people submit reports to me.I asked people to send me their system specs so I could try to figure out why this happening to some of you, and hardly anyone did.If there is some kind of leak, I want to fix it.However, fixing stuff that I can't reproduce is tough. And remember for every person who says they have a performance issue, there is someone who says they don't have a performance issue. So it's tough. Again, if people have an issue, please email me so I can setup some kind of organized tracking system so I can try to address it.Best, B. February 2, 201016 yr Hi All I have just done two flights using the PIC version and i took pics along the way , i also had a memory program running to track memory usage, over all i lost just 5 FPS , I think we can rule out a memory leak as i still had over 1.2gig left and at no point during the flight did my memory usage go into the red , in fact it stayed in the green all the way . I noticed the FPS loss after the Desent check list PC Specs AMD40002 GIG memWin XP SP2GF 7600 GTSound blaster live 5.1 Just two pics , one with and one with out FS2CREW running Rich P.S Ignore the incorrect configured A/C in the last pic lol i was only really worried about the FPS
February 3, 201016 yr Author Well guys, since ending of last year i've been talking about this performance leak. After reading all these post, it seems that both high end and low performance users are experiencing the problem. The performance leak tends happen when :1. Long flights2. Approaching TOD3. Approach checklistand4. Landing Checklist. My performance drops so much that the landings are impossible.I've tried flight w/o fs2crew and no problems. I've tried short routes eg Kmco-Kjax, no problems.I've tried africa flights with no 3rd party scenery, and i get the same problems.I've sent my specs, you say i need to upgrade, but i've read post with guys with way better specs than mine, but they have the same problem.I'm willing to try to help solve the problem but it seems it's something that only u can solve bryan.Hope we can get to the bottom of this.Sean
February 3, 201016 yr Commercial Member Hi Sean,As you can see, Rich above you lost 5 frames during the approach phrase. These are the system specs you sent me:a Compaq Presario Intel Pentium dual CPU 1.60 Ghz1.0GB32bitPlease do a flight again, but using Resource Monitor (or any other kind of memory monitoring tool), let me know how much free RAM you have.1 GB isn't very much. I want to know if you're literally using up all your memory.Do you know if your Hard Drive is running a lot?Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 3, 201016 yr Sean Yeah 1 GIG is not much, if you notice in my pics and spec i have 2 gigs and i have about 1.1 -1.2 free on the approach and thats using the UK2000 extreme scenery's , when i first loaded up at Gatwick i had just over 900 meg free (with out Fs2CREW running ) . With 1 GIG you are running on bare mins and the system will start using virtual memory which is not as efficient . I will try again with the PMDG 737 version , from what i remember it was the same amount of memory usage (all ok and nothing wrong ) but i think the frames were a little lower , i think i lost an average of 8fps . Try closing some programs down that could be running in the back ground to help free up more mem , IOBIT do a free game booster which can help with that. Rich
