FSDT PHNL released

It's certainly a fantastic scenery but unfortunately i'm in the CTD boat too.btw, hopefully the MS guy who has to assess the FSX error reports is just on a long vacation and didn't commit suicide.

That's why I haven't bought any of their stuff in the past. Umberto seems like a good guy but his license checker is too fragile, based on continuing reports of failures.scott s..
Exactly. in fact it got so bad in the FS9 days I swore off ever posting a reply to this subject.........................on that note I'm out of here.

My installation caused FSX to CTD as well. Then I remembered...Don't forget to remove any other third-party PHNL AFCADs you may have installed elsewhere. After I removed my two AIG PHNL AFCAD files, FSX ran for a couple of hours just plan-spotting around PHNL without a single CTD.It's an easy step to forget when you have some new scenery in-hand.

So after I dug up the link for Geof, I found myself in exactly the same situation. :( Anyway, after doing that remove/retrust cycle a few times, a restart, and changing my account type to regular user and then back to administrator (a trick that helped me with an earlier, slightly different problem), it seems to be working. Just another run-of-the-mill-fsdt scenery (which is to say, it's awesome).

This is interesting, never heard that before...be sure we'll add it to the list of possible suggestions. Apparently, by going back and forward to change the account type, forces Windows to "clean" some of its security polices to their correct value, which might be a reason why the Trust system in FSX goes bonkers sometimes.

Now i was able to fly without a CTD and without having changed anything.Really a great scenery. The only problem i have seen so far are two aircraft caught in an unambiguous pose.I'm using Ultimate Traffic II and as you can see in my second image, there are no other airport files active.

I just bought it. Lots of shadow issues with the trees, especially on the NW side of the airport. Some shadow flickering on the tarmacs here and there and mipmapping on certain objects is very poor. Decent textures, not great. Scenery priority is the airport then megascenery underneath that. Not their best work imo. I prefer O'hare.

That is not related to the scenery, they are caused by an addon mesh you are using, and it's part of the fix we'll relase soon to address specific compatiblity with Megascenery Hawaii and FS Genesis.

You should be able to fix this quite easily, by removing the parking spots from the AFCAD were the static C-17 are so, AI will not park there anymore. It's something we'll surely fix in an update, but it's so easy to do, there's no reason for you to wait.

Good to know. Glad you're working on it. Too bad it wasn't fixed before release though since 90% of the folks here who will buy it use both of those products that you mentioned...

I love the scenery, but the Afcad does need more work. Right now I have F-15s, C-17s and Cargo aircraft parking at the gates. :(

Yes, I agree about the AFCAD that came with this airport. It really ruins the otherwise great scenery. I have military and UPS cargo at the terminal, and like the poster above, I had a northwest jet on top of one of the static C17s. I am working on fixing it some now, but my ADE skills are limited.

Main Sim PC: P3D v5.2 & MSFS 2020, i9-10850k @ 5.0 GHz, ASUS Maximus XII Hero, ASUS TUF-RTX3080-12G, Dell U3011 30" IPS monitor, G.Skill 32GB 3200 Trident Z 14-14-14, Samsung 512GB 960 Pro NVMe (OS), Samsung 2TB 970 EVO NVMe (Sim), Win 10 Pro 64, Yoko Yoke, Saitex Combat Rudder Pedals, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant

I noticed that they only mentioned planned AES support for FS9. Does anyone know why they are not planning AES support for FSX? AES support is a key factor I use when consider what scenery I want to buy.

There's no difference whatsoever between supporting AES in FS9 or in FSX, from our side. We just give Oliver files he needs, which are not related in any way to the sim version (they are, basically, some Gmax source files), and he can do both the FS9 and FSX versions entirely on his own.

Nice scenery, my only complain is the taxi lights reflextion on the ground, way over done IMHO.I have been flying as a professional pilot for 24 years and I have never seen such an effect. But in FSDT's defence when a scenery is created with realistic lightning (dimmed) we read a lot of complains on the various forums that the lights are not bright enough.I find many airports are way brighter than in real life and many simmers like a lot of effects that can only be achieved in real life with a camera adjusting settings. I only use JFK during daylight and did not buy Geneva because of those super bright lights, they are huge!Same thing for nav lights on planes. My two cents,Other than that good job guys!Dan
