  1. I run 5960x1080 surround with no problem, you need to have wideviewaspect=true or else the view is to zoomed in and you can't see the gauges.
  2. I'm using Nvidia surround, not THTG, and my buddy has 2 560 Ti's in surround and it works for him
  3. I have the exact same problem, let it go for 45 minutes and it looks exactly like the shot posted. I ran the updater to check files, all was good. I deleted the exe and ran the updater again, it downloaded the exe but still the same problem.i7 920@ 3.8 GHz2x EVGA 570 with the latest drivers ( Skyrim runs great )3 samsung 1920x1080 monitors, running a bezel corrected 5960x1080 surround.

  5. I love Steam, greatest thing for PC gaming if you ask me. Easy to buy and play games, and if you build a new rig or install a new OS, just log into steam and redownnload the game. Games are tied to your account and not your computer, so it's hassle free to redownload a game. I play a lot of PC games and only buy them from Steam, saves on desk clutter since you have no DVD's laying around.
  6. Not true at all, to play and save/load a single player game on GFWL you need to be connected to the internet. This is every time you play, not just after installing and playing for the first time.There is a work around where you can make an offline proflile, but without that you can't play (or save) the game unless connected to the internet.I have Bioshock 2 through Steam and it uses GFWL, hasn't given me any problems, but GFWL is hated in the gaming community.
  7. FTX is a fine product, but not everybody likes it.I tried it, saw the demo at the Avsim con in Bellevue, and it's not my thing.Sorry, like I said it's not a bad product, but just because you love it doesn't mean the rest of the world will.
  8. This I do not agree with.You paid for an FS9 product, the dev is under no obligation to update it for FSX, and it may not be all that easy to do anyway.The difference here is Vauchez told everybody a promise is a promise, and he will update Portland for FSX.
  9. No, I'm not thinking about "high school type" jobs. I know many white collar jobs that will round file that resume if it has that many past jobs. Saying you will never get a raise if you stay at a job is flat out wrong, I get one every year. My brother has been a white collar employee for the state of Washington for over twenty years. He's been in the same dept for 17 years and makes way, way more than he did 17 years ago, and direct deposit is nothing new. I know moving on is sometimes the only way to move up, my Dad was a civil egineer and we moved plenty as kids. You can also hurt your chances by job hopping, new employees are a huge investment for any company and many will not spend the money on a short timer.The last thing an employeer wants is somebody who is just there for a paycheck, I think somebody of your age would remember the days of people having pride in their work. We are talking about flight sim add ons anyway, a niche with in a niche. It's such a small market that normal rules often don't apply. Flightscenery was a one man show, like 99% of all flight sim add on companies.I just hope Vauchez finishes Spokane and it aligns with Orbx, that way I can fly my Airliner XP from the fsx version of KPDX, through Orbx scenery and land at his awesome Spokane scenery.
  10. What ?That makes no sense at all, you sound very young. Let me tell you that's not the way it works at all, no company likes a job hopper. It will prevent you from being hired at many places when your resume has 10 different jobs in 12 years.How about you bail on projects like the Airliner xp enough times and nobody will want to work with you, no matter how good your skills.He was supposed to do CYVR for Vancouver +, so I'm not holding my breath on him doing anything for anybody.

  14. Make sure and stop at Diamond Point 2WA1, not sure how good it is in FSX, but the georender version in FS9 was great.

  19. Temp inversions can produce a shocking temp differential, we get them in the winter in the PNW. We had a wicked one in Jan, which lead to weeks of endless fog that never burns off. Sea level temp of 34 F and dense fog, and at 2522 F msl no fog and a temp of 61 F
  20. They are using free imagery now, not satelite. I proved this with with a comparison shot between our unfinished Washington Photoscenery and the new megascenery earth PNW in another thread here. All you need to make photoscenery are GeoTiffs and the resample tool found in the SDK. It's really easy, but to do it correctly ( autogen, watermaksing, afcads, realigned default 3D objects ) it's a mountain of work.
  21. The non megascenery shot is the PNW photoreal scenery that SkyDvdan and I were doing. That project was put on hold due to personal issues ( divorce ) and Dan being deployed to Iraq. Those things are pretty much resolved, but with megascenry out we don't know what the future holds for our project.Maybe this weekend I can put some more shots in the forum.

I only have squares 3 and 4 of megascenery, Sydvdan and I have all of western washington already from the photoscenery project we were doing so no hurry for me to buy megascenery, the colors are better than our project, but we did some other things much beter than megascenery.I've lived near Tacoma for 32 years, so I can give you a good locals opinion.Port of Tacoma: Imagery is great, but none of the default 3D objects have been moved or re scaled. There are boats on land, cranes misaligned, and they could have added some more objects. The water masking is ok in that area, but could have been better. The puyallup river is watermasked, but it is a blue color, which looks ridiculous. I think the water masking for that river ends in the Orting valley. Default 3D bridges are there, but they were not cloned stamped out of the imagery, except for the major ones like Narrows.Tacoma dome is also out of place, and the scale is off.This appears to be true of the entire megascenery area, no default 3D objects were moved, and none of the airports have adjusted afcads.There is only one Narrows bridge, but with something like EZ scenery you could add a clone of that bridge to make the second, new Narrows bridge.The imagery is great in areas, and OK in others. Megacenery automates things like autogen, so expect houses in the Puyallup river along Levee road ( a few weeks ago that may have been true to life ), they used the wrong vegetation type for the autogen, or global warming has changed the trees. The watermaksing also appears to be automated, fine in most areas,.Again, from what I've seen the afcads and default 3D objects are untouched, which means boats on land, things out of place and the wrong size, and airports that don't line up with the imagery.KTIW is cut in half at square 3, and I don't have the other square, again, no afcad work so the runway and taxiway don't match up with the imagery.
  24. I only have 2 Washinton tiles, and they used the wrong vegetation type for the autogen, which makes it look way wrong, not sure it neon is the right term for what I see, but it's the wrong species of trees.
