February 3, 201016 yr Hey guys,Just a question. Is there an effect for the dark shading under an airplane when its on the ground during daytime? Danny
February 3, 201016 yr Yes, there certainly is -- I'm not in front of my FS9 machine right now but it's somewhere under the main menu at the top. Press 'Alt' and then select something like View===> Options ===> Display ===> and then the second tab (I think). Hunt around for it -- it's in there. It will greatly impact your FPS though -- I leave mine off for the most part since I do most of my flying from WITHIN the aircraft. :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. February 3, 201016 yr I leave mine off for the most part since I do most of my flying from WITHIN the aircraftA valid point indeed, Chuck. But don't forget you can still see other aircraft which do show shadows on the ground. :( Though yes, it lowers FPS, same like the Scnery ground shadows. But, hardware permitting, they enhance the general 3D look a lot.
February 3, 201016 yr I agree, Rafal. Just wanted to be sure the OP didn't get a nasty surprise -- I really was just trying to inject a little humor, too. Thanks. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. February 3, 201016 yr I really was just trying to inject a little humor, too.And you did, Chuck! As usually. :( Thanks for that.
February 3, 201016 yr There is a "shadow gauge" (I've had for a long, long time.... somewhere in my stuff) that I have a swithch installed on my panel and it turns the aircraft ( all aircraft in sight) shadow off and on just like any other toggle switch. It would take a bit to find it in my stuff but if a few people would like to have it, I'll look for it. It might still be availabe here or at flight sim. jerrycwo4
February 3, 201016 yr Jerry,If you could find it and let us know the name of the zip, that would be great. Many thanks in advance!;)
