February 26, 201016 yr Night lighting is a one size fits all approach in the Embraer. No dark cockpit. You have to fly with the dome light on. Looks like crud.Really? The problem I'm having is the dome light doesn't work when it's too light outside (FSX's control) for the gauges to light up, but too dark to see stuff in the cockpit. Hopefully they will be open to adding this what is otherwise a REALLY nice plane. February 27, 201016 yr Even though I'm obviously biased :( , I do really like FT's ERJv2 - it's almost like a jet version of the J41 in a way. Like the J41, you have to actually fly it - there's no autothrottle, no profile VNAV etc. It complements the J41 nicely if you want both a turboprop and a jet for regional stuff.ERJv2 is an awesome add-on light jet by FeelThere. In my opinion it's the best from FeelThere so far and the best in its category in general. It gives that irrational atmospheric feeling of actual flying it, that is usually attained by a combination of artistry and excellence of the technical simulation. I'm not a fan of turboprop unfortunately, but from what I've seen of J41 is a masterpiece in its own category as well (which is no big deal, taken that it comes from the company that seriously competes only with itself). And yet, ERJv2 is a #1 musthave among lighter add-on jets so far. Dirk.
February 28, 201016 yr I would say the J41. PMDG has much more attention to details than Feelthere IMHO. Panel lightning is a good example. Feelthere still doesn't have an independant logo light switch, therefore you cannot turn the logo lights off during night flights. PMDG stopped doing that after the 737NG... many years ago. Same goes for many external lights. To Feelthere credit, the systems simulation and FMS are comparable to the J41. It's just that attention to detail and the "good enough" attitude that gets me... in my opinion.A lot of happy costumers for both products so it is a matter of preferences.Dan
February 28, 201016 yr I may be a little biased here but anything PMDG puts out is good. Of course I'm partial to the ERJ though... :( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
March 11, 201016 yr I may be a little biased here but anything PMDG puts out is good. Of course I'm partial to the ERJ though... :(FeelBadThere is a company I for one will no longer support. I won't endorse a company that spends 98% of its efforts defending dysfunctionality. It first starts when the unsuspecting customer references another brand of payware by name. That gets immediate censorship. If one dares to describe a problem as a "bug", then it's lock down time. I don't know if these people work behind an iron curtain and just plain live in fear or what. But I do know I don't what to endorse a company that is not eager to hear and understand customer concerns and desires. Here's the whole issue with the VC lighting with my experience: unless the ERJ is initialized exactly a certain way, the panel lights switch simply does not work. All other aircraft, default or otherwise, don't behave in the inconsistent way. For me, this matters, because I always fly at sunrise or sunset. In this situation, because there are no other panel lights in the ERJ (like you would find in PMDG stuff) other than the main one that imparts a green hue on VC, in lower light conditions one can benefit from seeing nice bright gauge lighting without the green hue. Not an option UNLESS you first load a different default plane into memory, then load the ERJ, then load you flight plan. If you SAVE the flight you just set up correctly so the panel lights work, this kills the panel light switch when that flight is reloaded. I know it's a nice plane, but I just don't care to patronize companies with that sort of response.
