pmdg webiste where are you?

Recommended Posts

It's been months since I have been able to get on the webpage. I can't even install pmdg a/c because of it I think. The installer shuts down at the point that the online validation starts.Anyone else have this problem?

This is very likely a DNS problem at your ISP - we changed servers (and thus the IP our domain name resolves to) over a year ago and if your ISP never got the new DNS record that updates the IP, it means you're still going to the old one. Here's a way to test this - open up a command prompt and type "ping www.precisionmanuals.com" and hit enter. Tell me what IP address that resolves to after you hit enter. The correct IP is 64.71.225.166.

Yeah you need to call your ISP up and tell them that their DNS server is resolving the wrong IP for our site. Tell them exactly that and they should know what to do. You can also use an alternate DNS service like OpenDNS or Google DNS. http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ This will definitely fix the issue as well and in a lot of cases might be faster than your actual ISP DNS server.

Why don't you just point your router DNS entries at another DNS server(s)? Usually you can choose between DHCP assigned (default) or you can assign the DNS servers yourself without faffing around with static IP addresses too (so you still get a DHCP assigned address).

Glad to hear that worked Harry - definitely contact your ISP about it, they're not serving their customers correctly if their DNS is that far out of date. When we changed servers I saw the change happen here almost instantly on my ISP's server.
