FSX throttle goes to full thrust on its own

Featured Replies

New and stupid here. New to flight sims and running FSX Gold. Since Day One, I've had a recurring problem with the throttle just going nuts at some point in the flight. Typically I never get off the ground before it happens, although a couple of times it happened after landings. It abruptly moves to full thrust without me touching the keyboard. Manually returning it to idle doesn't stop it, just jumps back to full. Even shutting down the engines doesn't stop it, the thing just runs at full throttle with them off. Now, today during a take-off roll, the throttle just went to idle FROM full, again all by itself. Doesn't seem to matter what plane is loaded. I looked for the obvious, auto pilot/auto thrust/flight director inadvertently on, but that doesn't appear to be the problem. I've even uninstalled and reloaded, and it still occurs. So I'm thinking it's me. What am I doing wrong? The computer is running FSX, Wilco Airbus Vol. 1 and TOPCAT, with a CH Flight Stick Pro USB, other than the OS system that's all it has loaded on it.Any thoughts?MS XP pro SP3Intel dual core 2.3GHz3 GB RAMCH Flightstick Pro USB

Do you have the throttle axis assigned in FSX for the CH Flight Stick? If you use your keyboard only, you could remove any throttle axis assignment in FSX.

Check each of your Options->Controls->Joystick settings: it sounds as if you have two controllers/sliders/keys/buttons set for the one throttle control.

I've got the same [Toyota] problem. That is, it is on both my Saitek throttle quadrants.setup:#1= power eng1/power eng2/prop eng1#2 = prop eng2/ fuel eng1/fuel eng2[2x black> 2 blue > 2 red]When I use the #1 throttle quadrant for a 2 engine jet and move the prop lever together with the engine2 power, engine 2 stays stable if not, when the throttle is about 1/3 out the engine of the plane goes full power at times. :( Of course that ain't possible on planes such as the B' BaronIt looks to me as if this is an Windows7 [usb] problem.A friend of mine has got similar problems with his CH pedals that don't operate smoothly and have sudden input bursts.Anyone know of a solution, ever heard of it?cheersfrom Holland [EHMZ] JoastyToasty

Hi,did you get your problem resolved of the throttle levers engaging to full thrust on their own. I have also come across the same problem.

Bump, same here.

bump, same problem here.  My throttle is a Saitek X65F and the slightest touch of either throttle will send it to full power.
