Hi everybody,I try to register at the A2A forum but never get the right code at the end of the registration page. Maybe somebody can answer my question here then. It says that i needthe "A2A wings of Power II B17 Flying fortress installed first. Doest that mean that i have to buy the 2 airplanes or i'll pay for only one but get the two. ThanksLmaire

You must buy both products.. The airplane and the accusim pack. Then install the Accusim pack over the airplane install. It's like upgrading to the pro pack.JB

Yup, you need the A2A Wings of Power B-17 installed first so that you can then enhance it with the Accusim add on if you then buy that. The B-17 is very realistic without that add-on, but with the Accusim add-on, it enhances the realism a great deal more. So you won't have two aircraft with the Accusim add-on, just the B-17 with further enhancements.Al

You are not buying two aeroplanes, Lmaire: it means that you buy one ** B17, at $32.99 and then you buy the Accusim module at $29.99 to go with it.From the A2A Accusim advert:- "(NOTE: This product requires the A2A Wings of POWER II: B17 Flying Fortress to be installed)"

I couldn't agree with you more, this is a really neat airplane and the accusim pack just takes it over the top. This is my first accusim plane and I am really looking hard at the other accusim planes now.

What interest me about the B17 is from what I read you get assistance from your virtual crew. I wonder if they will upgrade he B377 with this feature. I would love to get it but sitting infron of the FE panel is not how I want to spend my time while flying. I guess we will see.

Hi,But you don't need to sit in front of the FE panel all flight long. You get aural messages when something is wrong. Only then do you need to take the proper actions on the FE panel. The B 377 is challenging to fly but that is why it is a great aircraft.I don't like aircraft with which you can make any mistakes without consequences. It simply does not make sense technically.

But to do the job of pilot flying, pilot not flying, AND flight engineer is just too much some days

sure, when you make mistakes :(
Guys I have spent a few days with the B17 accusim now and the virtual crew is a very nice addition. Either my flying needs improvement or they might need to make some improvements on the first officer logic that they have built in and this is primarily around engine management. The manual states that cylinder head temperature is controlled primarily by manifold pressure, fuel(lean vs rich) and cowl flaps and this is assuming that you don't get crazy with the throttles. I have noticed over the last few days that the first officer is pretty good at managing intercooler flaps and rpm but he seems to be a little slow on managing those cowl flaps and he lets that CHT climb to above 200C(keep in mind my power settings and manifold pressure are per the manual during different phases of flight) and most of the time the FO only has the cowl flaps open at 18%. I also have done all my flying so far in cooler temperatures. The manual states that engine parts start to degrade in strength when the temperature approaches 200C. So, I find myself giving him control of the RPM and intercooler flaps and I take control of the cowl flaps and manage the manifold pressure selector to keep the CHT below 200 which is pretty easy in most climates if you manage the cowl flaps well follow the suggested MP settings and avoid being a little crazy in your climbs and descents.

Scott,Technically, yes, metal starts to break down as temperatures get hotter, but at the same time too low temps will create issues as well.Your co-pilot adjusts the cowl flaps to maintain roughly 200 degrees C to get the best balance with temperatures and keep the lowest drag as well, as opening them too much will slow your climb and require even more power. As for the cooling, don

Hi,This aircraft looks awesome. The modelisation is incredible. I am sure that most of you guys are totally unaware of this problem with FSX, but some people, in fact only a small minority, have performance issues, I mean FPS wise. :( So my question: Is the accusimmed B17 hard on FPS? How does it compare with the B377? (It works on my computer but it is the maximum that it can handle)Thanks
