At the shop tested with EVEREST ULTIMATE AND CINE BENCH and all was well and passed and it showed my baseline score which i was quite happy with. Anyway since i got home i tried running FS and man the FPS improved a lot and i was so happy as I could land PMDG 744 in VC at EGLL with everything to max and still get pretty much at least 20ish FPS on average. Anyway out of 5-6 flights i have done. two ended up in blue screen error and i tried running CINEBENCH again a few times except now it also ended up in blue screen. I then just now tested my computer with BURNIN TEST and it showed computer failed as below:Incorrect 128bit (SIMD-SSE) floating point additionThe execution of a mathematical operation came up with the wrong result (e.g. 1 + 1 = 3). This is a very serious error for a computer as it means the computer is incapable of execution the same sequence of instructions to get the same result. Possible reasons are faulty RAM, System bus, CPU or overheating. There is a strong chance that your computer will crash or lock up just after an error like this because if the computer can

If it works for a while before failing, it could be overheating. Did your change of Fan setting lower the the airflow rate/volume? If so, then put it back to a higher setting and try again. You can't raise the heat by overclocking the CPU and expect it to stay at the original temp with a lower HSF setting. You need a good HSF if you're overclocking from 2.67GHZ to 4GHZ.Colin B

Just a couple of thoughts. What's the CPU temp when FS is running? What's the CPU temp when the system is idle? The CSPN10X is a good cooler and should keep the temps under control is it's properly seated. Have you had any problems without the OC? Have you tried lowering the OC a bit to see if stability increases? Sometimes sacrificing a few FPS with a lower OC can really stabilize things. Doug

Hi. Can bluescreen be caused from overheating? I thought if it overheats then it just shuts computer down but I am thinking it might be ram timing. Anyway the fan speed is on highest and i will try lower OC and see if it's more stable first. Will let you guys know. Thanks so much :)

I lowered the OC down to 3.8 Ghz and reset the SYSTEM MEMORY MULTIPLIER SPD to AUTO. The CINEBENCH now doesn't crash but following:ran memetest and after about 3 hours-ish it showed 4 pass and 1 error. Before i ran memtest i ran orthos and prime95 and within very short time it showed error. Something liek FATAL ERROR ROUNDING WAS 0.5 and expected less than 0.4I am guessing i need better PSU and maybe one of my thee (2gb) ram stick is bad right??

A good PSU is very important if you want to overclock - it is often neglected when people build a high-end system and this is, in my opinion, very much a false economy! Not sure if you can say the RAM is bad based on these results, just perhaps that it is not able to cope with the overclock you have set - have you tried specifically running the RAM at more modest settings while keeping your high CPU overclock just to see if the RAM is the problem?Geoff

Something defo went wrong in the overclock. I went back to default set up and ran prime95, orthos and memtest and there were no errors at all. Wonder what went wrong...

Did you check the CPU temps? If not, you really need to do that before trying anything else.Doug

BSOD's can definitely be caused by overheating, as I've discovered on my overclocked quad-core system when trying to play Rise of Flight, which beats all four cores like a rented mule. I have to turn up the AC in the house to sub-arctic settings to play it BSOD-free in the summertime.

Hello,

Must be amazing to see you playing Rise of Flight wrapped in a parka and surrounded by penguins :( Regards.bye.gifGus.

No, quite a common sight in Arizona in July, actually...... :(

Okay so after 9-10 hours run on prime95 with 3.36GHZ with no errors, i found a guide to overclock to 4.0GHZ using same motherboard as mine as showing steps by steps. I am now running at 4.0GHZ and ran prime95 for about 3 hours with no errors and also the burnin test with no errors like before now. I'd like to think it's stable now but i am pretty sure i am wrong because the temperature will shock you. While running prime95 at both 3.36GHZ and 4.00GHZ. The program CORE TEMP shows the temp going up over 80C straight away and in the end in the 80s and 90s C while having hit 99 also for most of the core but the computer never shut down and i could still use the computer fine. Even last night when i left prime96 running for 9-10 hours the temp was always around the 80s and 90s C.Anyway as happy as i am that it didn't show any errors and the clock seems stable but i am CONFIDENT i am wrong and waiting for you to confirm me because the temp should be way way less than what i am getting right? At idle temp is around 50ish C.

What program are you using to tell you the CPU temp? I have a Jetline made computer that is "factory" overclocked to 4.01 gHZ and have no idea what temp is . jerrycwo4

You can get a program called CORE TEMP or REAL TEMP
