April 24, 201016 yr Doug,I wore the same "big" pair of David Clark's that I used when I was learning to fly. My recollection is that the vast majority of crews wore similar models. I only saw a handful fly with ANR headsets, but then, I only flew twice a week. I'm also not an expert on headsets, so it's possible that some were ANR and I just didn't notice (and I never asked).I do not recall ever seeing anyone with the jet style of headsets on the J-41.Edit: In fact, I remember feeling a bit silly the first time I had to jumpseat on a 767, and I broke out my huge headsets while the crew was wearing little dainty units with only one earphone. I hadn't ever really noticed that headsets even came that small...
April 24, 201016 yr I prefer the ole' big David Clark's, I've used the ANR but they are too good. I prefer without ANR, makes it easier to sync the props manually and hear things earlier.Of course now I listen to the TV so loud you can hear it down the street. Dan Downs KCRP

That's what I thought. Once I got my license and bought my first bird, I donated my passive DC's to the co-pilot/wife and bought the ANR pair. Expensive, but worth it.
