April 22, 201016 yr Read this...http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display...e_Analysts.html Geez! They crippled their own product. Did they communicate that to potential purchasers at point-of-sales? I'd be ripping that sucker right out of my computer and taking it back, unless it clearly says on the current packaging that the product is in fact NOT a 512 data stream part. To quote the article...'In a bid to improve yields of the code-named GF100 chip (NV60, GT300, G300), Nvidia disabled 32 out of 512 stream processors even on flagship GeForce GTX 480 graphics board, however, after the product was formally launched on the 12th of April, it is still rarely available and where it is in stock, it costs much more than its recommended price of $499.'...
April 22, 201016 yr This to me is just another stunt to shoot up the price.I'm waiting patiently. When they do become available, I'll get mine. But, I'm not going to be ripped off! MSFS

The GTX 480 has never been advertised as 512 stream processor card. Facts here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_480_us.htmlnVIDIA planned to have 512 CUDA cores, but backed off and ended up with 480. I haven't seen any specification at resellers that claim that the card has more than 480 stream processors. No one has been tricked or fooled. Maybe some people haven't read the specs before buying the card, but who's to blame?
April 23, 201016 yr What is this thread for???nvidia never said that the final GTX480 have 512 stream processors!
