Anyone have Aerosoft's ManhattanX and FSDT's JFK Airport running together? How much of a performance hit is there? Thanks

Anyone have Aerosoft's ManhattanX and FSDT's JFK Airport running together? How much of a performance hit is there? I have both plus Imagine sim LGA. There is a performance hit, but is not nearly as bad as I would have thought considering all the autogen. If you have a core I7 or some other fast processor and your system and FSX is configured well, you should have not problem. Rob

The ImagineSim KLGA has the same nasty framerate-killing code in it that their recently-fixed MYNN and KATL had...it's related to the rwy lights in the bgl. They are supposed to have a V2 of that scenery on the streets before too long.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

.... and the v2 lights at KATL are UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim Wenham

does anyone else who have KATL v2 have in the scenery.cfg file "Imagine Simulation - KATL Atlanta FSX V1.0" listed? I want to be sure I have the latest version, but the scenery cfg says otherwise!

They sure are. I emailed them, and they responded that they found a fix, but won't have it out for a while as they work on the other upgrades.

Thank you for the great info! I couldn't agree more about Imagine Sim KLGA,It's a total FPS Killer! I couldn't fly any where near it let alone land there.I think it was on my PC for only a few hrs before I had to uninstall.Version2 of KALT seems to be much better on FPS for me though. Thanks!

I have all three: Manhattan X, FSDreamteam KJFK, and Imagesim KLGA.Before my recent tweaks, Manhattan X and KJFK were not on my system. FPS were 5-10. So I had to delete them. Now performance is 20-30 fps and smooth with all 3 installed, regardless of weather. The problem with KLGA is not fps - it's the shimmering buildings that ruin it for me.If you don't have a fast system, you'll experience poor performance and terrible graphics.I'm looking forward to version 2 of KLGA.

Hi Jose the shimmering is real bad! hopefully they fix it in v2 but doubt it, was wondering what was the biggest thing that you lowered or changed that gave you the boost in fps? was it the traffic or auto gen? that made the big change.

Don't forget the runway lights for Imaginesim's KIAD for FSX destroy framerates too. KIAD is only useable during the daylight hours.Best regards,Jim

Cesar,When I updated to the latest drivers and tweaked my system using BP=0, that did it!I'm limited right now with Dense-Very Dense AG & Nhancer HQ settings until I get my gtx 480.

Thanks Jose that Bp=0 is really something else! when you have the right hardware for it. Im sure when you get the gtx 480 its gonna be a blast! :)

Actually, for the ImagineSim products it's KLGA, KIAD, KCVG and KCLT that have the horrid lighting issue. I bought the KATL version 1 and it was really nice -- worked fine, then I purchased the others with the bargain bulk discount and was hugely disappointed. I contacted them and they stated they were working on a fix but they still have not come out and from what I understand now KATL v2 is broken as well.....I ended up deleting the runway_lights.bgl in each folder. Good news is no more frame killing, bad news is that there are no night runway lighting. I am not hopeful with ImagineSim right now and will not purchase anymore until they start fixing some of these issues.Anyway back on topic--I have the KJFK FSDT scenery and I actually see pretty good performance. I get more slowdowns looking at the default Manhattan Skyline. My system specs are listed below so you can guess how it will work out for you.
