May 3, 201016 yr Greetings,I was thinking of getting software based charts for FS2004, and remembered that SimCharts came out some time ago.Does anyone use this software? Is it still available?Thanks,-Matt
May 3, 201016 yr Simcharts v3 for FS2004 is not available through Jeppesen anymore. The CD's are still available from some retailers, just do a search. Get at least a 3 region version, there are a total of 9 regions but it is quite expensive even for three. You can find the used CD's for sale, just do a search and you can save some money. There are other free products for viewing charts but they don't have georeferencing. The Simcharts product is fixed in time though and you will see charts from when FS2004 was developed so they will be many years outdated for some airports. I think with the demise of Simcharts v4 for FSX we may see a product to fill that niche that allows for use in FS2004 and FSX and includes georeferencing and allows for newer charts or updating charts. May 3, 201016 yr What kind of charts are you looking for? FAA current terminal procedures are available free in bundled versions from flightaware.com. These are current. There are quite a few terminal and some enroute procedure charts available at no cost on line such as the UK. It takes a bit of hunting.Post your interest so a better answer can be provided.http://www.dauntless-soft.com/PRODUCTS/SimPlates/index.asp provides global terminal procedure charts and it has been updated from their original SimPlates 2004 product I bought several years ago. While not all inclusive globally the update should provide more.A current FAA high altitude chart real world bundle is not very expensive. Here's one source:http://sportys.com/PilotShop/product/11580or your local pilot shop.Once I started using FS Build's auto generate I did not really need the high enroute charts but I do have them. I also get real world US flight plansfiled from flightaware.com as well as the terminal procedure charts (.pdfs) I mentioned.

May 4, 201016 yr Hello Matt:"Does anyone use this software? Is it still available?"Have it, but very seldom if ever still use it. The last time I used it that I remember was years ago to get the SID/STAR data for LLBG because I couldn't find it anywhere else. I purchased 6 CD's for the USA plus much of Asia and Europe years ago and they are very out dated. Hard copy (paper) documentation I also purchased were the USA Goverment IFR Enroute High-Altitude charts, and the old Destop Wings IFR /aeronautical /charts and Aviation Topographic Atlas. As far as I know none of these are still available and go back to a MSFS version long before FS2004.A few suggestions for your consideration follow:For USA Navigation:http://www.airnav.com/airports/get http://www.aeroplanner.com/flightplanning/approachplates.cfmhttp://dtpp.myairplane.com/http://skyvector.com/http://charts.vatsim.net/http://skyvector.com/http://naco.faa.gov/digital_tpp.asp?ver=04...p;end=5-13-2004http://ndac.navigraph.com/www/default.aspFor European and/or other Navigation outside the USA:http://www.airnav.com/http://www.gofir.com/general/nat_tracks/index.htmhttp://rfinder.asalink.net/free/http://www.vacc-sag.org/http://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/j_nip/cfmu...lp_sitemap.htmlhttp://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadcms/eadsite/index.php.htmlhttp://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.be/j_nip/cfmu/...lp_sitemap.htmlNorth American Tracks (NATS), :http://blackswan.ch/nat/Australian Organized Tracks (AUSOTS): http://simroutes.com/fb2/ParseOceanic.aspxPacific Organized Tracks (PACOTS): http://simroutes.com/fb2/ParseOceanic.aspxIn addition to this, there was a link, "http://naco.faa.gov/pdfs/ne_rear_05JUN2008.pdf"", which gave the "NAR's" and a wealth of other information in a PDF format. Unfortunately, that link now says that this website can no longer be found. Fortunately, I have one saved, but it is from August, 2007 and I still reference it. May 4, 201016 yr For the UK navigate from here:http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php.htmlRegistration no longer required.more specific: http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index...p;Itemid=3.html

Go to http://aeronav.faa.gov/index.asp?xml=aeron...lications/d_afd2. Click digital-Airport/Facility Directory at bottom of the resulting page3. On the next page select Maine in the Select a State dropdown box the click search.4. Finally, on the next page, select the Supplemental link just above the Airport/NAVAID Results box. That will take you to the current NE Supplement, which has the NARs and much other good information. If you are an information junkie, there is a supplement for each FAA region, which may be found by selecting a state in each of the regions as in 3 and 4 above"Hope this is of some use to someone:Happy flying:RTH
