Hi everyoneI have implimented *******' cfg tweaks and so far so good. Generally my sim is running well considering where I have all my sliders etc with advanced aircraft like the pmdg J41 and Fight 1 Mustang. The only thing that I am not all that pleased with is how the sim looks in terms of the antialiasing. If I look across the cockpit things look a bit ordinary, is this the trade off for less stuttering and better frames or is there something I can do about it? Cheers to all.Barra

It's a little hard to interpret "a little ordinary". How about being a little more specific?

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

Hi DougalWhen looking diagonally across the VC the cockpit instruments are hard to read (jagged) which I assume is the AA. What options do i have.

NVIDIA has always had issues with AA in FSX. You would think that NVIDIA would take a look at FSX graphics more and develop better AA for the game since it is still a very, very popular game and many people buy their new video cards just for FSX in hopes of improving their graphics. NHancer is an option but I have personally stayed away from this program as I am simply happy with the graphics displayed by the default values of the Nvidia display driver for the FSX game (under the Program tab). You should turn AA OFF in your display (video driver) settings and turn it on in the FSX settings. I have a system twice lessor than your system and I do NOT have the display problem(s) you seem to be encountering (cockpit instruments are hard to read (jagged)). Of course, it all comes down to the eye of the beholder. In your FSX.cfg, did you change the wideview setting from false to true (it's false by default)? That MIGHT help. Sometimes gauges may have jagged or hard to read lettering if the proper fonts are not installed but I doubt this is your problem. AA is a common issue with FSX and your best graphics viewing is to set your graphic sliders to moderate settings. Turning them all the way to max sometimes enhances graphic anomalies such as AA. Make sure your graphics card driver is displaying the native resolution made for your monitor and it's not set to lower resolutions. I think graphics will get better once Microsoft moves FS over to the XBox and improves the programming in the next version.Best regards,Jim

Use nHancer to set 8XS AA.

After reading through many of threads dealing with AA, it think there has to be made a clarification.FS cannot actually do the job of AA itself! When you check AA within the sim, then the sim only decides when AA is used (in order to enhance performance). But what kind of AA is used or if there isn't any AA used at all has to be set outside the sim, e. g. via the control panel or even better through utilities like nHancer or similar. This should actually be clear, bacuase what kind of AA do one think the sim should set by itself ... 4x or 8x or 16q, or etc...without any instruction from outside??This also means that checking or unchecking AA in FSX has no influence iff AA is generally used.So the statement "If you set AA within the sim, then you don't need nHancer (or similar programmes) any more" is just plain wrong!Wolfgang
