May 23, 201016 yr Hmmm - I don't have a lot of freeware programs... mainly because I'm very picky about the quality of addons. I do have some Tim Conrad planes, the Fokker DR from Neoqb, and Empeck's SZD-30 Pirat GliderI use Squawkbox and Skyvector/NACO maps for online flight - I guess those are free heheOh I forgot to add PW's freeware Carribean island sceneries (though I hardly fly in that region)http://pwsceneries.fswaterconfigurator.com/index.html | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 23, 201016 yr The only freeware scenery I tend to use, is stuff from avsim.ru, since they have a lot of Eastern European airports and scenery, which is rather a neglected area in FS, and I have some Air Hauler bases in that region, so having good scenery for it is useful. Some of it is really excellent (well on par with payware stuff). I'd recommend you check out things such as the scenery for Talagi airport at Archangelsk (ULAA) - that one even has animated birds flying around it, as well as a custom flagged runway surface that was originally for the MiG-25s and MiG-31s which operated from there. As far as aircraft go, most of mine are payware, but if the Tin Mouse makes it to FSX, that would certainly be on my list. Beyond that there are a few prop aircraft I like, such as the freeware JBK Boeing 247 and Vultee you can get here on AVSIM. There's a very nice freeware Ju-52 kicking about as well that is worth a look.Utilities-wise, I would not be without DXTBmp, for saving out textures when doing repaints, and if anyone does not have Photoshop with which to do repaints, I highly recommend using Paint.net, which is an excellent free alternative to it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
