While opinions vary, I'd suggest searching the FS9 forum for these entries:TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=...you'll see they tend to differ greatly from yours.

Rick

Your setting are:TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=15.800000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.800000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=1442456They should be:TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4.0 <------ also try 3.5TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.0TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4

My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....

If the other replies haven't helped you already, I also wanted to note that the picture seems to hint at what we call "dynamic blurries", blurries caused by rapid movement thru the scenery. To know if you are suffering from those, slew into the flight levels then stop. Angle your view downward and see if the textures sharpen. If they do, you're suffering from dynamic blurries. My "dynamic blurries" in FS9 completely vanished when I upgraded to a new system. It's very similar to yours (I have 1GB of Ram on my video card and 8GB on my motherboard). So I think your system should be able to stay pretty sharp in flight. Dynamic blurries on a good system are almost always process related--any background process can soak up cpu cycles. Antivirus programs are a good example, but not always the culprit.Set your TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS, TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS, and TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS as per the advice you've seen here--you will want to do that regardless. Hopefully that is the cause of your blurries but from the screenshot you've shown, possibly not.For FS9, these are the settings I use on my Nvidia card. I'm satisfied with the 4X AA and I leave AA enabled in the sim. Compare to yours and they may also help.Nvidia.jpgRegards,John

John, many thanks for posting these Nvidia settings, have just done a daylight flight and it is the best I have ever seen in my FS9.Flying years,Thank you.One small problem just a small amount of 'shimmering' on small parts of scenery seems at random which setting may be causing this? One big problem I have just noticed........ at busy urban airport dusk almost dark and there are 100s of lights above the scenery on the skyline, looks pretty but they should not be there methinks,It must be one of the Nvida setting as I have not changed any other settings. Hope you can help with these probs Many Thanks. My Nvidia card is GeForce 9800GT Mip mapping set at 4 in FS.Eddie.

For Blurries: TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.9TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.9TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=8and(under Display)TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=400For Lights (add these lines under Display):RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.0 //scales edge, center, end, touchdown, runways RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.0 // scales VASI lights) RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.0 // scales approach light bars RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.0 //scales RAILs and ODALs)Try these settings. These are what I use.Hope this helps.
