NVIDIA Driver Opinion FS9

Featured Replies

Dear Simmers,I would like to ask you whether someone out there have experienced a driver, which works gfine with fs9.I have an Inter Core2Quad, GTX 285,Asus p5nT-Deluxe mobo,4 GB RAM and WD 150 GB HD & Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.The thing is that sometimes my sim freezes especially when I am on Approach or change views. I'm sure that it is a driver problem, that's why I am asking which drivers maybe some of you, have found best.Currently I am running the the lastest ones from NVIDIA website.I hope to hear from you soon :)Regards,Cpt Zammit

I'm using the 186.18 drivers due to shimmering issues with the newer ones. I have tried the newer ones, including the new beta, and have not seen any improvment - in fact, I have seen much worse performance in some...[system is Core2Duo 8600 (4.33GHz) with GTX280 and Windows XP x64 - running FS9 on dual screens at 3840x1200 via nView 'span' because it's better IQ and FPS than with the DualHead2Go]Geoff

I am using driver version 185.85 and nHancer. My system: Intel QX9650 3ghz OC'd to 3.83ghz, Asus Striker Extreme II, (liquid cooled), GTX 280 OC'd, 4gb Kingston PC12800, WD V'Raptor 300gb x2 in raid0, and XP Pro 32bit with the 3gb switch, and wide screen LCD with a 60hz refresh rate. I don't know how this information would apply to Win 7, but good for me should be better for you, . . . maybe. I've been thinking about Win 7 64bit myself and am getting close to convincing myself to make the switch, so naturally I am very interested in all the pros, cons and how to stuff.Regards,Mel

The 257.15's (beta at present) makes FS9 perform and look spectacular.I'm using an nVidia branded GTX285 with them.Mitch

Not at home but think I'm using the 186.16 drivers. Beware, if you are an nHancer user, the latest drivers do not allow you to use the AA and/or the AF facility of nHancer.

For my 8800GT I'm still using 185.85 (with nHancer 2.5.9) but I was going to give the latest ones a try.I will then stay with what I have till someone confirms there are some brand new drivers good for FS9.

Interesting... what OS are you using Mitch?Geoff

Using Drivers 197.45 and nHancer 2.5.9, which are the latest versions at this very moment. Zero issues. Those with issues, time to update or accept that it's not the drivers or nHancer, but you. :(

Mike...

accept that it's not the drivers or nHancer, but you. :(
Yes, it's us! I finally admit it...devil2.gifMy name is Blurrifer AntiAlliasus.

:( :( :( Well, I finally went and updated my drivers too. Been using 181.20 with my 9800GT for ages. The latest for WinXP, 197.45, as Mike says, give zero issues with the latest nHancer. regards,Jure
