Error after installing VoxATCx

Featured Replies

I get the following error after installing VoxATCX (latest version, downloaded yesterday)Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {41B89B6B-9399-11D2-9623-00C04F8EE628} failed due to the following error: 80040111. at VATrainer.Form1.Form1_Activated(Object sender, EventArgs e)My system is Windows XP x64 SP2 with latest updates..NET Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0SP2 and 3.5SP1 are installed. Also all MSXML versions and C++ 2005 & C++2008.Installed MS SPeech 5.1 just now, but that didn't help either. I emailed VoXATC yesterday evening about this, but haven't received any reply (like a " message received"). They should be based in the UK, right? So hardly any timezone difference there :)The error indicates a SAPI.DLL error (that's what the CLSID is)

Still no reply, not even from VoxATC themselves :( This doen't look like great (potential) customer support from them.

I am pretty sure none of your fellow VoxATC users on this forum would have a fix for your issue. I would be patient and wait for a reply from the VoxATC team which is located in the UK. They normally respond with three days in my experience. I have been using this software since it was first released and have recieved excellent support in the past. Good luck.

I received a reply from VoxATC...it turn out that WINXP x64 isn't supported. Vista x64 and WIN7 x64 are both supported. The reason it won't work on XP X64 has to do with SAPI not even working and the recognizer engine not working.So....no VoxATC for me then :(

There is no truth in the statement "SAPI does not work on Windows XP 64" because it does work. Only applications that are written to talk directly to Sapi.dll (mostly native C++ applications), not those written in Visual Basic.Net, will work.VoxATC may not work on XP 64, but there are other alternative ATC programs for that platformGerald ReillyOn behalf of the FS++ teamhttp://www.multicrewxp.com

It would seem to me that VoxATC could save at lot of frustration to its' customers if they would update the FAQ page on their site to provide basic compatability information. This is not inexpensive software and it would be nice for a potential customer to have this information before buying.

Like what ATC programs? I'm not hoping you're referring to superATC because that doesn't look like to qualityjob voxatc does.As to sapi: this is what I was told:The problem is the recognizer engine on XP 64, the SAPI 5.1 doesn't seem to work, and I don't know of a replacement.

HelloNot only are you pushing your own product in another Developers forum, but you also take the opportunity to to take a cheap shot at anther competing product. This is very bad manners and shows you in a poor light.

Gerald,You were already warned about that behavior, and even though we were extremely gracious in giving you a second chance, you continue to hijack threads to promote your own products and criticize competing products. No more warnings. If I see that just one more time you're done here.
