June 12, 201015 yr The finest flying machine ever built by man (excepting Concorde of course!) Disagree at your Peril!!!!!!! vololiberistaNice , but nah, the finest flying machine ever built by man is the American P-51D Mustang, with the British Rolls Royce designed Merlin Engine (Made by Packard under license)! Truely a marriage made in Heaven!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
June 13, 201015 yr Nice clip, and I saw that aircraft too since Manchester is about four miles up the road from me, as well as when I was at RAF Brize Norton. But for me, the finest flying machine ever built by man (and that includes Concorde) is of course the Douglas DC-3.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

June 14, 201015 yr Nice , but nah, the finest flying machine ever built by man is the American P-51D Mustang, with the British Rolls Royce designed Merlin Engine (Made by Packard under license)! Truely a marriage made in Heaven!!Wrap a Spitfire around that Merlin and then you are on the right tracks :( Sorry vololiberista , while I am with you on the Concorde , I don't think I can vote for the VC10 as the finest
June 14, 201015 yr The finest flying machine ever built by man (excepting Concorde of course!) Disagree at your Peril!!!!!!! vololiberistaWhat I was amazed by was the similarity between the sound of the VC-10 taking off and a rocket bound for outer space. Quite a roar from that jet!As for the finest flying machine, for me that's any aircraft I am capable of landing while keeping in fine condition. :(
June 14, 201015 yr Wrap a Spitfire around that Merlin and then you are on the right tracks :( Sorry vololiberista , while I am with you on the Concorde , I don't think I can vote for the VC10 as the finestThe Spit is a close second, but what tips the balance in the Mustangs favor is it's range, allowing the allies to take the fight right to the Germans. Herman Goering himself said he knew the war was lost when he saw Mustangs escorting the Bombers in Berlin. Had the British had the Mustang during the Battle of Britain, I think the war would have been over sooner!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
June 14, 201015 yr Nice video, but I have to agree their are better liners out there. Concorde is the exception of course. How many VC-10's are still flying? "Caution is the elder brother of wisdom"

June 14, 201015 yr The finest flying machine ever built by man (excepting Concorde of course!) Disagree at your Peril!!!!!!! vololiberistaThe VC-10!For me she's up there with the Concorde; the Lockheed Connies - Constellation, Super Constellation and Starliner (the best piston engined airliners ever); the Tupolev Tu-154, Tu-134, and Tu-114 (the best turboprop airliner ever).
