July 12, 201015 yr Hi,I am using RCv4.3 with UT2 and I am a bit confused about ATC. I have FSX ATC turned off in settings but I seem to have two ATC voices running simultaneously, one clearly is RC but the other sounds more like FSX.So my question is, will RC ATC interact with all AI planes created by UT2 at the airport I am located, ie. If I tune to tower frequency or approach or ground, I will hear RC ATC talking to UT2 AI planes. I can hear interaction but it doesn't sound like RC ATC and I wondered whether it is, in fact, FSX ATC.Many thanksBill Bill Miller

July 13, 201015 yr UT2 users should set the AI spawning range to maximum so RC sees AI in sufficient time for proper runway assignments both in departure and arrival procedures. At least 40 nm is needed for approach.
July 14, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the advice. I have it working now. You don't seem to be able to turn fsx atc off, but as you say, you can turn the voice down to 0. One other thing is that the ATC frequencies used by RC for EGSS, for example, are not entirely accurate. Where does RC get these frequencies from and can I update them other than before each flight?ThanksBill Bill Miller
July 14, 201015 yr http://www.jdtllc.com/FAQ.htm#28 for terminal frequenciesWarning: Do not use EXCEL or other spreadsheet/database type application. You must use only a TEXT editor such as NOTEPAD. Make a safe copy elsewhere of f4.csv perhaps renaming the extension so you can restore it if the file gets corrupted. In addition, for certain frequencies RC may put in a default if needed.
July 14, 201015 yr I really look forward to v5 just getting these from FS, no need to maintain a separate static database.
August 8, 201015 yr Hey JD,I've always wondered why you've suggested that method over the years. What's the advantage to leaving FS ATC checked at all?I use default ATC for assisted taxiing ( the yellow line) and also for crosschecking ATIS reports Specs: Windows 7 64bit / Intel Core i5-3550 @3.30 GHz / 8.00 Gb RAM / ATI Radeon HD 7800 2Gb
