Abacus Dream Liner

Featured Replies

I agree, which is why I put in the second caveat. I have never bought anything from Abacus, so I wasn't aware that they cater to those looking for "lite" products. Simmers often set their expectations too high. We all need to remember that the simulator (FS9) id dirt cheap compared to airline simulators. Quite honestly, FS9 never ceases to amaze me with its ability for the price.

To each, his own. If I PAY for a plane that is to be in real world production, I would like for it to be fairly accurate. If they want to provide an experimental and sell it as such, then my expectations change. Is that ridiculous?
Someone holding a gun to your head to buy it ?Your expectations don't have to change at all.If it doesn't meet your expectations, then don't buy it. Is such a thing really so difficult ?Regards.Ernie.

Given that all ABACUS products have a "try before you buy" period, one could reasonably discover whether the product met their expectations before pulling out the old credit card... :(

...'flies a bit like a 787 might'...
And how many here actually know what a 787 flies like, or even know how it flies compared with a 777?

Yes, you're better off looking at the AVSIM reviews and the people who own the product, before actually purchasing it. I really regretted the day I bought the 787, I should have really read the reviews here (unfortunately I wasn't registered with AVSIM at that time) before buying it. I've lost over IDR 299.500 and I can't even ask for a refund.Regards,Dave

Okay, I'm really confused now. You mean ABACUS has never updated their "Dreamliner" to use the entirely new, custom programmed panel/gauge system I built for them over a year ago (06/08/09)? This is full view of the VC that I've cropped for maximum clarity at 1024 width:croppednewb787vclayout.jpgOh well! They paid me for the work, but it seems a bit silly if they aren't going to use it! :(

That's the update alright, and they did so. The exterior model was still pretty much the same, however. I'd rather have those gauges on a freeware model!Dave

Oh, I see. Thanks for confirming that. Apparently ABACUS hasn't bothered to update their screenshots or the list of folks involved. Given some of the reactions here, I'm just as happy they didn't list my name, and even more sorry I brought it up myself! :( As is plainly obvious, those are NOT "default gauges" by any stretch of the imagination. As the panel/gauge system is not locked to the model, you should be able to use what is shown in my screenshot with any aircraft you want. Note that I am referring only to what's in the screenshot. The "other gauges" aren't mine and may well be locked to the model and/or the ABACUS "licensing system."
