FSBuild & Active Sky Evolution

Featured Replies

Hi,Is it possible to use FSBuild with Active Sky Evolution?. I read some online instructions that allows this but I am unable to get it to work. Here is what I've done.1. I set Active Sky 6 export directory path is as follows: C:\USERS\MICHAEL\APPDATA\ROAMING\HIFI\ASE\WEATHER Note: This is where I download Active Sky Evolution's current_wx_snapshot.2. Checked Apply Winds Aloft Data in FSbuild's Settings section.3. Saved FSBuilds configuration.4. Restarted FSBuild and confirmed the above data was still applied, it was.5. Exit FSBuild.6. I started Active Sky Evolution and downloaded the latest weather.7. Confirmed that the file current_wx_snapshot was in the following directory C:\USERS\MICHAEL\APPDATA\ROAMING\HIFI\ASE\WEATHER8. Started FSBuild.9. Created A Flight Plan.10. No Winds, all state zero.Am I missing something here?.ThanksMike

Mike, I had not heard that FSBuild and ASE interacted, but I do not use FSBuild. Do you have "Disable winds aloft" unchecked in ASE?Jim Skorna might pick up on this thread in this forum, but you might consider posting in the HiFi Simulation Software forum here at AVSIM.

it worked fine for me under winXP but i have been unable to get it working under win7 64bit. is it possible you are using windows 7 also?i tried the instructions, went to the settings i used to use when i had it working before, manually edited config files, etc, and it just never seems to find the values even though the directories all point to the correct places. i so far thought it was maybe something wrong with my win7 security settings..perhaps it is a similar configuration issue on your system that i could learn from??. i haven't really had time to thoroughly investigate it yet.good luck,i miss this feature a lot cheers-andy crosbyEDIT: oh , i saw your OS in your sig. maybe it is a windows 7 or 64bit issue or something like that. i had them working perfectly on my old xp computer...

Hi.Sorry for bumping this, but I got the same problems as OP had so I figured it was better to bump than to start a new thread.Anyhow, I can't see "AS6"(I got ASE) in the options and settings tab, nor in the "export to..." menu at the top of the screen. Any ideas how to solve this? I'm running FSBUILD 2.3.1
