October 21, 201015 yr Hey guys I was wondering if cpdlc is possible to be incorporated in pmdg to work in vatsim or ivao!? It will be so cool!Kind Regards
October 21, 201015 yr Controller Pilot Data Link Communications is just that a datalink. Although cool I would love to see a direct link to ATC without the need to run the UI's necessary to communicate to VATSIM/IVAO comtrollers. So are you asking for CPDLC because you do not use voice comms. while flying? \Robert Hamlich/
October 21, 201015 yr Commercial Member This is already in use on Vatsim, just undock the Hoppy FMC to another screen and use it as a third FMC.I'm guessing you want the whole thing incorporated into the VC without multi monitors, it would be good if PMDG did that but a second screen is cheap for stuff like this. BAV also has a dispatch and company freq if you use TOPCAT for ACARS.http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51232 Rob Prest
October 21, 201015 yr The Hoppie system is great, and some controllers on vatsim are already using it, mostly oceanic. :)http://www.hoppie.nl/acars/prg/air/ Regards, Emil E. Nielsen

Adding proper native VATSIM support is probably not what the majority of the PMDG customers would want PMDG to spend their time on. However, something like CPDLC wouldnt be that big of an undertaking, as its only CPDLC, not all the other stuff as well

October 22, 201015 yr Is it possible? Of course. Will we do it? I have no idea. You could do what Hoppie has done and have allow external programs to plug into and be controlled by the CDU *hint hint* :DCheersNick Jones

January 26, 201313 yr i was wondering if in PMDG mdcu it's possible to log on on ACARS and CPDLC, and if it is how to do it?? because i have no idea i tried and tried but nothing, also in hoppi ACARS is it possible to be integrated with pmdg MCDU?
January 27, 201313 yr I hope so. I'd love to hear the ACARS "ding-dong" and use the Accept, Reject, Cancel buttons on the 777. Maybe they can just periodically show generic messages.

January 28, 201313 yr Commercial Member It would be nice, but at the same time, trying to do it and remain platform independent would be tough, I think. Kyle Rodgers
January 29, 201313 yr Chaps, There was actually some discussion on tis in theVATSIM forum in relation to the new pilot client they are looking to develop. The crux of the argument is that it is possible to be done however VATSIM in relation to the pilot client need to specify what parameters are needed to connect to the network and pass messages etc... to PMDG so that it can be incorporated. So when flying under say Shanwick, you could log into the ATC data link as easily as tuning frequency. If VATSIM or IVAO created a set of standard parameters then anyone add on developer could create a cpdlc client in the aircraft that could connect.
