Q and A time on the 737

The lights indicate that the mode is either engaged or armedIf that ain't it you may have to re-word it for me.It's addicting, almost like a scavenger hunt, but I'm learning in the process.

Ok but let's go back to my previous post about arming the APP mode. If you do that, the light on the APP button extinguishes as soon as the G/S and LOC capture. Is the APP engaged? Yes. So why is the light out then on the APP button? Does that make more sense. What is the significance of the green light on the MCP buttons?Jack C

I'll take a stab a this, an educated guess if you will. From my experience flying PMDG and LDS boeings that when the APP light is lit before LOC and G/S intercept I'm still able to deselect if needed. After intercept though the light goes out and I know that after that I have to disconnect the A/P to get out of APP mode.So the lights also mean that the mode is deselect-able....final answer.

Jeez Dan. You must be the smartest sim pilot out there. You are the only one answering the questions!

Well - it could be you post all these Q's when it's plain night for some ... :(sig.gifPS:
System B will continue to operate normally but the reservoir level will decrease and should stabilize around 72% full.
May I ask as to why this is?

If i remember right there's a pipe feeding the backup system with fluid from sys B reservoir. It's connected at that level so it can't drain system B but doesn't need an extra filling point.

I am sorry Etienne. I didn't mean for it to be rude. I was just kidding because Dan and I were up late last night asking/answering questions every few minutes by ourselves. It wasn't meant to insult or anything. I appreciate your participation too!Jack COK I guess I am on question 13 I think:#13 When does the ground power light extinguish?

Hey, I was not offended in any way, didn't mean my statement in any bad way either Big%20Grin.gif because I positively recognized you two were having fun and posting back and forth every couple minutes! :biggrin:As to you question, it's probably beyond me. I would only have said it's extinguished once the cable is removed, but that would be too obvious haha LOL.gifAlthough, I have a picture lying around that just got me thinking - the cable is clearly connected, but the light next to the actual plug labeled EXTERNAL POWER CONN. is dark. It obviously does not show if the flight crew opted to actually use GND power as there is an additional light labeled NOT IN USE. Wonder why the CONN. light is out though. I have no reference but would guess it's only out whenever the cable is unpowered while attached. See below. The plane seems to have been powered though since the P/BRK light is on. Really strange as it was in a hangar and the engines and APU were certainly off, so the only power source could have been GND or BAT.sig.gifgndpwr.jpg

Yes you are partially right. The ground power cable can still be connected BUT something has to make that blue light come ON so therefore that "something" has to be removed to male that blue light go out.Jack C

Well going from my Wilco B733, when you go from your GEN to your APU power, the APU Available lights go off when switched over......SOWhen the GND power is on and in use by the aircraft, the light goes off?

Well, now that you say the cable can still be connected, I really don't know what else requirements should be met. Most obviously the power needs to be online, ok. Other than that the voltage, frequency etc should be in useful ranges. Wow, guess you've lost me on that one already LOL :(Big%20Grin.gif

Hm I wouldn't say so, because the label says "GND POWER AVAILABLE", not that it's necessarily in use. If it is, though, the bus off lights should extinguish, still I stand to be corrected. :(sig.gif
