November 18, 201015 yr I purchased the MD-11 today, and I am looking for a reliable fuel calculator for this type. Any sugestions? Thanks! Ethan Rayhorn My Office: (Taken at FL410)
November 18, 201015 yr Just use the FMC. Its very accurate. TOPCAT is also pretty good and it has other features, like flex temperature calculator for derated engine performance takeoffs.

November 18, 201015 yr what I do is upload/enter the flightplan, then do an estimate of the fuel (eg. 1/3, 2/3 etc) and load that via the aircraft fuel dropdown and then check the progress screen on the FMC (EFOB at landing should be around 20-30k lbs taking into a/c alternatives, taxi, holding, etc). given this is FS, there's very few diversions! :) don't take more than you need. November 18, 201015 yr What I did with the 747, is I made a spreadsheet that calculates it all. I don't have the MD11 so making one isn't at the top of my list, but it isn't that hard. Give it an hour of equation building and you can get a basic build, more for some of the complex stuff like takeoff distance. November 19, 201015 yr Author Hi everyone!I use this fuelplanner:http://fuel.aerotexas.com/Its absolutely free and reliableDoes this calculate the fuel for a specific route, or does it just caculate direct routing? I fly SIDS/STARS, as well as waypoints, vors, and airways. Is there a way that I cannot see to input my route? Thanks. Ethan Rayhorn My Office: (Taken at FL410)
November 19, 201015 yr Ethan, if you have the time to wait the TopCat devs are making a new flightplanner, see TopCat FP on Facebook. They hope to release it this year. Peter Belgium Flightsimulator is not a simulation, it's a way of life ...
