No more PMDG for me...

Featured Replies

Well I am really upset to say that I'm leaving PMDG, and FSX behind. However I'm pleased to report that this is because CTC have selected me as a Wings Cadet!!Guess I'm not going to have a chance to check out the NGX, atleast for the next two years whilst I'm training. I would love to take my desktop out to New Zealand with me but I think my weight allowance will be sky high! Big%20Grin.gifIt will be great to see the product released, and I'm sure you guys can supply me with plenty of jaw dropping screenshots and videos. If anyone is interested I'm thinking of starting a blog for people to follow through my training. I will post a link here when I start.Regards,

Well done,You'll be amazed how much flight simulation will have helped already with flight training. If you can use a PC sim down there it'll be a great training aid believe me, I'm just about to fire up the pmdg 747 now to do some practice for next weeks sim check.I'll try and follow your blog, it's 20 years ago now I set off for Australia as a young 19 year old PPL to do my commercial training, it'd be interesting to see how things have changed. Will you do the IR in the UK?Good luck Jon Bunting

Congratulations, good luck in the training. Thankfully i'll be able to fly the NGX for about 6-7 months before I start training with OAA, can't wait. Regards,Andy

Congratulations on being selected, are you not able to take a laptop with you? I did when i was training in Florida a few years back, and using the 737 and 747 addons really helped in understanding various aspects of instrumentation and automation.

Money is certainly an issue, there's numerous ways that I'm funding the training. I won't bore you with the details!

Thank you Jon. True, flightsim has taught me so much about different systems. I hope your sim check is ok. I will certainly get the blog link to you when it has been set up, and yes all my IR will be completed at Bournemouth after I come back from New Zealand.

Good luck with OAA, they seem like a great company and would have been my other choice from CTC.

I will take my laptop as CTC put the whole ATPL course onto for me. However it can just about run FS9, and FSX doesn't want to play. I'm going to sell my desktop in the next few weeks which is what I run FSX on at the moment. Thanks again for your comments.
