Belfast sceneries

Featured Replies

My friends have sadly moved away to Northern Ireland today, and now I am looking to fly to Belfast and pay them a virtual visit. I have seen Belfast Xtreme from UK2000, but would like to find a freeware scenery if possible. Can anybody recommend a decent scenery for FS2004 (or potentially FS2002) for EGAA and/or EGAC? I have seen new sceneries for both airports for FSX, but is there any chance these would work in FS2004? Thanks.

Have you checked this site?http://www.freewarescenery.com/fs2004/whatsnew.phpIf it has been released as freeware, it will be indexed there with a link to the file.

Thanks for the 2 replies so far. Yes, I have seen the freeware scenery site - the only file listed for Belfast is one available here at Avsim, and that is only for the military side of Belfast International EGAA. And yes, I am aware of the IFSD package too, but this is for Irish sceneries only, and as far as I'm aware doesn't include Northern Ireland which is part of the UK (hence the codes EGAA and EGAC!!).

Yes, I know what you mean. That's RAF Aldegrove to say the least. But that scenery was rather simple. There's also a free version of the UK2000 Belfast Xtreme scenery, but of which is a scaled-down version without custom vehicle objects and any object that was included in the Xtreme version. Dave.

Northern Ireland is pretty starved of scenery in the virtual world :( The best freeware I think you can find from memory is a few AFCADS, the IFSD group made the H&W Cranes, which is a nice addition when flying into EGAC, but for EGAC itself there's pretty much nothing. Ages ago there was a payware scenery for it, but it wasn't of particulary high quality, gate numbers were the wrong way round and the textures were a bit simple, you can't find it anymore as the company vanished. UK2000 have not yet released a Belfast Free from what I can see, but the full version really is superb, especially with AES :(

Well, the UK2000 EGAC is one heck of a complex, yet on lower end systems, like most of UK2000's other sceneries, such as the EGCC and EGLL ones, with their objects, may place a pretty sizeable hit. Dave.

HiBelfast International (Aldergrove - EGAA) from UK Extreme is a top of the range airport addon (as we have come to expect from the UK Extreme series!) and, if you were to buy it, I am sure you would not regret it. Unfortunately there is no payware or freeware, that I am aware of, yet available for Belfast City EGAC, although Eiresim were in the process of trying to produce one, but were having problems obtaining detailed pictures of the airport to enable them to finish it. I don't think they have abandoned it yet and if they do produce EGAC it too should be very good as the quality of their addon airport scenery has improved dramatically with each new airport they have developed.Hope this helps,BillWindows XP Pro SP2; Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0Ghz CPU; Arctic Cool 7Pro; ASUS P5N-E-SLI Motherboard; 4GB Corsair 800Mhz DDR2 RAM; 768MB nVidia GeForce 8800GTX Dual VGA Graphics card; 2x 500GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive; 650W (2 x 12V) PSU; 2 x 1000GB + 1 x 150GB Western Digital External Hard Drive; CH Pro Yoke and PedalsPowering 282GB of fs9!
