January 5, 201115 yr I'm using a 64 bit win 7 os on a high end Falcon northwest system. I hooked up a second 23" montior and windows detected it right away. My question is how do you make fs9 use both monitors? My book on 7 says you can't drag a full window to the second monitor. Alt tab just shrinks it. I have 20 years worth of games and my nascar and flight sims would be nice on to screens.Help!
January 5, 201115 yr I can't sleep, so I might as well answer :)It is technically possible to do what you want, just not with a common setup (i.e. another monitor attached to the second video output of the video card). What you need is a so called "video splitter".Matrox as a nice product which does just that: DualHead2Gohttp://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/If you want to add a third monitor, TripleHead2Go is what your're looking for.Beware, these devices are not cheap (on this side of the pond, converted to $, around 300 a piece). January 6, 201115 yr Author For those you offered to help-thanks. One problem- windows 7 will not let you drag anything when in full screen mode. Some games load without a "window" so you can't do anything with those. I've been on the web for a long time tonight looking at duel monitor software and I haven't found anything that works well with win 7. Oh as for the reply from January and friends I'm 64 and I don't need little boys on my post.
January 6, 201115 yr January, who will be delighted with your reference to age, was showing you what can be done with any version of Windows and flight simulator. You first need to set up Windows for dual monitors, run FS in windowed mode then drag whatever you want to the second monitor. If you are using a Nvidia video card, the setup is quite simple. Have no idea about ATI.Jim Harnes

Result looks much the same as Full Screen which I found to be NOT workable with multi monitors- despite many attempts.Alex Reid
January 6, 201115 yr If it's OK for me to be on "this guy's" post, the only way you can spead flight simulator across multiple monitors in full screen mode is with the aforementioned Double or Triple Head to Go. I've even got mine configured for FOUR screens, but just being a (54 year old) boy, you porbably don't want my help. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. January 7, 201115 yr If I may add my "two cents worth" - I also run fs9 in a windows 7 64 bit environment. I am presently using a Visiontek ati radeon hd4670 x2 quad card which allows me to plug four monitors directly to the card. I use four acer 23" wide screens. If you operate fs9 in the "windows" mode, you can easily open as many windows as your system can handle and move them accordingly. I use 2 windows in each of the side monitors and a single window for the VC cockpit and another single window for the selected panels (radio stack, GPS, etc.). If I run into any problem at all, it is usually caused by my not paying attention to which window is active at any given time. You can even open multiple VC cockpit windows, move them accordingly and adjust the view in each "on the fly" by moving your cursor into eacn monitor, clicking in the window to make that window active and then using your hat switch to move that particular view. I agree with January, it is relatively easy to adjust the visuals in each window so that you are not too distracted. If you will set your system up in this fashion, it is really not necessary to employ any additional software. Finally dwardlow, relax my friend. All of us here are just enjoying a great hobby and trying to help each other in the process. Some are just a little more exuberant than others. All of us mean well, want only to try to answer your questions and help you enjoy your flying experience. I've got a couple of years on you so trust me. OK?John Henderson John
