I want to buy ASE, but many people said they're having problems with the winds, that some planes do not establish at the path. What I want to know is: should I buy FSUIPC together with ASE because of the wind smothing option or not? And what is REX 2 OD?
REX OD means REX OverDrive...It's a free expansion pack with HD textures for the base REX...of course, you need to have REX to use it...Cheers,

I'm also interested in Radar Contact and Ez Dok. Obviously FS2Crew will be on the list when it gets released. Plus about 20 odd addon airports that I'm lusting over :wink:Does anyone know if existing RC customers will get upgraded to v5 if (when) it gets released? CobraKev hinted that this might not be for some time though, so I might just go for it anyway.

What would you folks recommend as the best addon ground texture package e.g Ground Environment, Ultimate terrain. Now I have the system, the latest eye watering NGX pics have inspired me to sort FSX out once and for all. I mainly fly in Europe but open to a change of scenery.

ASE is very good as long as you have the registered FSUIPC version. After numerous discussions it looks like it's the most reliable option.

For ground textures it's UTX and GEX.For water and clouds its REX (by far!!!!).

Try TOPCAT too, if you want a realistic performance calculator. I wasn't going to purchase TOPCAT, but I decided to test and downloaded the demo version. It is not expensive and worth every penny. Ask those who have it.
Matheus, wich edition should i buy then?

It will depend on what will you use it for. I will get the download version, so I can start using immediatly. The Standard version is like the download one but instead of downloading the program into you HD, you'll get a CD. The deluxe version is the same, but comes with a hardcopy manual (the other options have the manual too, but in PDF format). These are the options for standard FS users, that don't use it for commercial purposes nor manage a virtual airline. Everything is explained in the Purchase window at the website.

I want to buy Aerosoft Madeira-X scenery because the default scenery is all f@*!#* up and I really enjoy flying to LPMA. I went to Aerosoft's website to see the specs but there was written that it's only compatible with MyTraffic addon. I will buy UT2 so want to know if someone who has any addon scenery from Aerosoft and any version of UT could tell me it they work fine together.

Just bought ASE along with my registered version of FSUIPC 4. Almost ready for the NGX. I still have to get my new graphic card and more RAM. Only after that I'll get REX. I'll only purchase TOPCAT when I get the NGX because by now it would be completely useless, since TOPCAT don't have data for the Concorde X, the only plane I have, and after I'll get Ultimate Traffic 2.I think I'll turn this thread into my logbook of new add-ons :(. If PMDG allow me to :(.EDIT: A few hours ago I detected a problem with this poll. Even people who say that won1t get anything new have to select a option in the 2nd poll. If possible, I'd like that a moderator edited this poll by deleting the second question or adding a "None" option in it.Thanks in advance.

got all of the things listed - and would recommend them all. Probably say rex best purchase for making things look pretty - FScrew a must for making flying more interesting - and topcat/fsbuild for realism in your planning and giving more purpose to your flights.Saying that EZdok is my latest favourite i use it with a gamepad to assign the various VC views with and would say those users who are not VC converts yet will find using this addon makes VC become as functional as 2D ones are - the only issue I have at present is the beta versions of TrackIR software keeps crashing on my system at present and not worked out why - think it conflicts with radeon 6900 and eyeinfinity.Other than that my hardware - MCP - Throttles/yoke/rudder/ FMC TRIM/Gear/Flap controls are what i think take my FS experience out of it being a mouse clicking game and into a proper sim. Which is why the announcement of the SDK with the 737 and following products is probably the most exciting thing PMDG have announced - that impresses me even more than the HUGS!
